Guys I have a question, so basically a few of the classes I put down as planning to take will not be offered at my college, this ruined my plans. Do you think my acceptance will be revoked ?

this is driving me crazy! anyone know when cal poly has decisions for transfers? when i was accepted out of high school my acceptance came in mid-feb…

:(( so sad

Sorry to hear that. If your stats aren’t good enough I don’t know what is. Your stats are much more impressive than mine I still haven’t heard anything and I’m an electrical engineering major

@FremontCA I bet your stats were too high. I’ve heard that they sometimes reject super high stats to keep their averages better. By the way, what school are you going to right now? I’m at CSUEB trying to transfer to SLO.

@Integrant I am so sad, Cal Poly is my #1 choice. I called CP admission to ask about my rank and the chance of people got accepted from waitlisted. He said cal poly doesn’t give rank for the wait-listed. He gave me statistic 2 years ago, none of wait listed people got accepted. Last year was really low. He said you SHOULD consider other schools. :(. Enough about me relax, cross your fingers. I wish you all the best!!! I hope you can get in.

@hinkelstein: Really?? Just because my status is too high oh man, that suck. When I applied, I just put my GPA and answered yes to all leadership and community services. I didn’t give them much detail. But anyway, I hate the fact that you’ve tried hard all the years to achieve your dream, now your hard works are just bite you back in the *** :(. And I am attending Ohlone College. Well I wish you all the best I hope you can get in also.

@FremontCA - Comforting as it may be to believe that you were rejected because “your stats were too high” as @hinkelstein suggests, since “they sometimes reject super high stats to keep their averages better,” this is highly unlikely. As a taxpayer funded institution, Cal Poly would be subject to legal liabilities if they rejected in-state applicants because they were TOO qualified. Private colleges and universities may play that game, but it’s in a public institution’s best interest to accept the most highly qualified in-state applicants they can.

Have you reviewed the Transfer Selection Criteria for Computer Engineering at <a href=“Cal Poly Admissions”>Cal Poly Admissions; ? Anything pop out as to why you were not accepted? If not, perhaps you should call the Admissions Office again, mention you’re on the wait list, and politely inquire which aspects of your application, besides your GPA and work experience, were not strong enough to merit an acceptance. Hopefully you will get an answer (and if you do, could you please post it so others have a better understanding of how Cal Poly evaluates computer engineering transfer applicants). Thanks and good luck.
