IT WAS NEEDED! Because in the following sentence it stated that it mentioned how she never had to wake up, however, to jot down an idea in her dream.... IT WAS RELEVANT TO THE PARAGRAPH!!!

:) I Agree

IO think i did horrible on the test. I will be happy if I get 27+

Can we post all the answers that we had agreed with? (more on reading and science?)

Well, we will see how I do. I am not too worried about it considering so many people here saying it was hard as well. I am taking it on the 26th of this month again, and my score should go up like 10 points, haha!

how are to taking it again this month?

It is one that the school offers, non-national. I am guessing it will be way easier than the 8th one, that one was incredibly hard compared to my practice tests. On the practice tests, I was around 30 for composite, on this, I am lucky to get a 23-25 :(.

This makes me feel better.
I thought the science was REALLY HARD as well.
I got at least 2 wrong in that section - and I'm pretty sure that I may have gotten more wrong.

Will we have time to see our scores before the registration deadline for the next ACT?

I thought is was not needed. The sentence before it read something like I have a handful of pens on my night table. Then the sentence after it read, although I haven't had any good ideas in bed, it is good that the pens are there. There is a direct link between the 1st and 3rd sentence. The second sentence does not belong. If you sometimes find pens under your pillow, you don't always find pens under your pillows. Therefore, if you were to have an idea in bed, you would reach to the night stand where there is a 100% chance of pens instead of under the pillow, where you only have some chance of a pen. That was my reasoning, but whatever

What were the 2 no answer choices. (I think I put the one that said it was vague and not needed)

finally someone that agrees with me

OMG me too! I think I did really well on the English section; I am aiming for a 30+. I made a few really stupid errors on the math section. For example, for the one with the two girls I put a - 10 in the equation instead of a +10. AHH! Oh well. I am aiming for a 25+ in math. Reading was bad; I am thinking 25+. Science was even worse, probably a 23 or worse. I really hope I make a 26 guys! On the question with the pillow, I said it was NOT needed because it is repeticious.

Oh and I put it was vague and not needed.

The sentence with the pens under the pillow was not needed. It wasn't saying that he kept the pens under his pillow intentionally - it said that sometimes he would find them there. So it wasn't contributing to the author's point. The sentence would have been consistent with the tone of the passage, but was not necessary in terms of the point of the paragraph, since it was about the author keeping pens close to him even as he slept, not where he found them as a consequence.

In the deer tick passage of the science section, the reason why the mouse was needed was because the larvae feeded upon them or something. It was one of the stages in the figure depicting the life cycle of the ticks. That took me a while, too, since I couldn't find a step that required only mice at first.

argg...i left blanks for reading and science(lack of time)...i should have just bubbled in random letters...now i feel badd=(

if we all did bad in science and reading will the curves help us? or it is a standard curve not based on preformance?

based on previous scoring charts form the real act we are all screwd on reading and science (especially sciecne)

I don't think so. According to page 6 of Using Your ACT Assessment Results, writing percentiles are based on the scores of "students who chose to take the Writing Test
during recent administrations." I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same system for all the other tests as well, meaning that it isn't based solely on this administration. So if people did really well in February, that's going to hurt us. :

Then again, it WOULD make more sense for them to compare April 2006 scores with April 2005 scores, which the SAT does, since similar groups of students take the ACT/SAT at the same time each year.

they better make a good curve or I will be ****ed. I mean the CC poeple on here thought the test was hard and CC people are REALLY SMART!!!!

I said pillow wasn't needed because it didn't really seem to make sense for me. I mean, if you took it out, you still got the whole sleeping and having pens close (with them on the bedside table) and it just seemed a little redundant/rediculous to add that pillow one.

I also said that sealab wasn't needed.

I hope they have a good curve. Everytime I reach the science portion of the test, I just give up and guess...well not blindly.
(=

I hope everyone does well because most of us deserve to!

Yeah, the Sealab thing wasn't needed.

what was the question with the sealab?

Was it the one that asked if there needed to be a small description of what the sealab was at the end of the first paragraph? I put no.

I put no for that too.
