AHH no scores! i can't WAIT!

Low 20. Oops.

how about just 30, will the ivy leagues or top cc colleges take a 30?
30 is fine for Brown.. However, a little low for UPENN ( 31-34 ) and the other Ivies. I got a 30 too :(

how about johns hopkins :(

last year's middle % for jhu was 30-34, so a 30 puts you at the 25%ile for accepted applicants.

But be in mind that JHU is not one of those score whore colleges and even with a 30, if you have great ECs and essays, you'll have a great shot.

"Essay doesn't effect your composite. It's just factored into a separate English/Writing score."

is this true!!!!

^^yes it is

no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so it cant bump your score up even if you get a 12 on the essay!!!!!!!!!

I found out why my scores weren't coming up: I had to call the number to get my ACT ID because I forgot to put my SSN on the sheet when I took the test. Anyway, here are my results:

English: 32
Math: 28
Reading: 31
Science: 29
Composite: 30

My reading score was the biggest shock to me. When I took the test, I skipped the prose passage and when straight to the second one because I usually find prose the hardest and most time-consuming. However, on the September test I, like many others here, actually found the last passage about wind turbines the hardest. I was left with only five minutes to read half of the prose passage and guess on all the questions. Yet I still managed to pull off a 31 -- I'm happy.

For those of you not able to access your scores: when I put in my social security number, it said it couldn't find them. But then I put in the match ID from my ticket, and they appeared.

Is 28 a fairly solid score? Or what? All these 30+'s are scaring me
28 is above average, and for most colleges is a very good score. Contrary to what this board might suggest, getting a 30 or higher is not normal. Only about seven students in my entire high school last year were able to get a 30 or higher. :)

English 31
Mathematics 31
Reading 34
Science 26
Composite 31

ahhhh why did i have to throw that piece of paper out two days ago!

Another 31 :(

English: 29 (down 2)
Math: 32 (stayed the same)
Reading: 27 (down 2)
Science: 35! (up 5)

I'm getting it handscored because like everyone else I thought I failed the whirlwind passage yet I did fine on it, and thought the Mamita one was really easy, yet somehow I did horribly on literature/prose? I know I changed my answers a lot on those ones, I just don't think I missed that many questions on those passages that it would bring me to a 12/18.

Lol, same. I want mine hand graded, should I do that ****?

sigh

i went down!

it didn't feel too bad while i was taking it, and i am SHOCKED to see how low my science score is (science is my best subject and on all of the practice tests i've taken i've gotten a 35 or a 36).

september:

composite: 31
english: 33
math: 29
reading: 33
science: 30

june:
composite: 33
english: 32
math: 31
reading: 34
science: 35

i retook because i didn't feel well while taking the test and thought i could do better. i'm totally happy with my 33 from june, though, so i'll just send that. i'm just dissapointed that i did so much worse!

Anyone hear of any 36 composites thus far?

my first and last time taking the ACT!! :):):)

composite: 34
english: 34
math: 35
reading: 36
science: 30

30 !!!!!!!!!!!!! IM FINE FOR WHERE I WANT TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and john hopkins is much lower the IQR is 28-31 or you should check your info before you post something.

JSB - no...which is strange. There are usually 2 or 3 "36" scores posted on CC. I have a feeling this test was more difficult than last June.

Does anyone else think the English was harder, or did I just suck this time? :)

And if I got a 36 on reading, does that mean I didn't miss any, or is that one of the subjects where you can still miss 1 or 2 and get a 36. J/w...
