**Official AP BIO 2012 Thread**

We use a different book than all y’all, but I think it’s in the same order. We’re just finishing up the different types of plants, moving on to fungi soon.

Hey guys, do you think just studying from the Cliffs AP book is all you need to get a 5 on the AP exam? I heard that many people used this book and they read it a couple days before the exam and they got a 5. Do any of you have any tips on how to read the book? Do we basically have to memorize everything? Many thanks.

^ I would like to know also

I heard from some people that it’s doable with only the Cliffs AP book. To be safe, I would look up topics that are vague online or in a textbook which is what I do. I’ve just been reading and memorizing from Cliffs until I got to biological diversity… So many complicated names and terms that I have never heard of. If you’re wondering, I am using a pdf file of Campbell Biology: Concepts and Connections 7th edition.

Ahhh AP signups have started, but I have barely started studying the Cliffs book. I need to manage my time better, otherwise I won’t have any time at all…

I’m finding it hard to just memorize all the terms! Are you all memorizing things like the chemical structure of glucose vs fructose, or the photosynthesis and cell respiration diagrams?

AP signups have started at my school too

Same at my school

Does anyone want to help us write a study guide for www.acceleratedstudynotes.com?

You can just send the notes you have. You will be eternally thanked and credited ;)

Haha I would contribute if I ever made any notes!

Lol, now may be the time to do so  hahaha

If you’re self-studying, what is the shortest amount of time needed to get a 5?

^I would like to know this too.

Hopefully it’s two months. Lols.

I took this class last year (Campbell and Reece 5th edition was the book my class used). I ended up getting a 5 on the AP Exam. If anyone ever needs any help just shoot me a message-I have some study guides that might help.

For the AP Exam, make sure you know all the labs. Too many people overlook the labs but check the College Board website, it says to know them.

I took the AP exam last year without taking the class and just studied Campbell & Reece/ Cliffnotes and got a 4. Not my best score, but I want to take it again this year and get a 5  Pretty much, Cliffnotes is amazing.

@hermione315: What cliff notes did you buy? I have found multiple copies when I searched for them. I hope to take AP Bio next year and I heard my teacher is not satisfactory. So I plan on reading the cliff notes in addition to taking the class.

Oh no some of the BozemanBiology videos got deleted! Stupid copyrights :(

I’ve heard that some people can pull of a 5 in a few weeks… but they probably have unusually good memories.

I just started self studying the Campbell Biology 7th edition at home!!! Hooray!Wish me luck!

I talked to my AP Biology teacher for next year and he said we will be doing 24 labs! Great…

What unit are you guys on? We just started the animal kingdom. *** D:

Good luck ing315! x)

What are some good practice tests?
