Oh wow! They just took it down like literally 1 hour ago. Cause it was working for me in the morning.
Lucky for me that I saved the PDF.

Someone explain me 61. The answer explanation doesn’t make any sense to me. I thought it was A, but it’s C… how are we supposed to figure out that nitrate wasn’t a limiting reagent…

can somebody PM me the answers to the practice exam posted earlier? thanks

@Chessy18 It’s C because nitrate can’t be the limiting factor since phosphate is. There’s a lot of questions where you can’t assume facts about the data; you just have to work with what you have. Since there’s no evidence saying the algae growth increased due to nitrate, you can’t say that it does.

@Chessy18 can you mail me the answer pdf via email? wilber.jeffphoenix@gmail.com thank you.

o nvm… I got it thanks!

To any one who took the exam last year or who has talked to people that took it last year…
I heard that the multiple choice required little bio knowledge- simply having to answer questions based on short paragraphs. I also heard that many people struggled with timing due to this.
Is it better to read the question first and then skim the paragraph for the answer, or to read the paragraph and then answer the question?
I want to do what would be the quickest and lead to the correct answer (obviously), since I’m generally slow in taking tests.

Do you know if I can find any practice MC exams online from practice books? Because I have the old versions of the practice books (PR, Cliffs, and Barron’s) which are good for review of info, but I need to practice with the format of the actual exam. I already took the exam posted in this thread; I need more!

Also, for anyone who got a 4 or a 5 on the exam last year, what did you get on ACT Science, because my bio teacher said that the test is very similar in format to the Science ACT and if you did well in the first then you have an easier time in the other.
I got a 34 on ACT Science. Do you think that I can get a 5 with that?

Thanks!

@randomandweird dude look at the link posted above

@DaneBrick

I already did that one. Are there any more anyone has found online?

@polar926 A lot of people are saying to read the question first. I also think that’s a good idea. It saves time so that you don’t have to read the entire paragraph just to realize that you could have just read only a sentence or two to know how to answer the question.

@randomandweird http://cornercanyonapbiology.■■■■■■■■■■/uploads/1/7/0/7/17070906/ap_biology_practice_exam_2013.pdf

@doodledork

Thank you so much!

@doodledork

I know this document is from college board, but how come the format is a bit different?
There are supposed to be 63 MCQs and 6 grid-ins numbered 64-69.
This thing only has 53 MCQs.
Is this a new thing for college board? Old thing? Or just not accurate?

And the way the questions are written is different than the way the questions were written in the mock exam I took; they’re shorter.

Thanks

Hmm I got 48/58 on the 2013 test which is 82.7% and you needed 77.5% for a 5…

And I haven’t studied and I thought I didn’t know any biology so I guess that’s pretty good… Provided the FRQs aren’t witchcraft…

Question 6 on that test pisses me off because I eliminated the choice “The basic molecular structure [of DNA] is a helix” because its basic structure is a DOUBLE helix. CollegeBoard ambiguity as usual.

Anyways, what scores have you guys been getting on the tests posted on this thread?

Can someone explain #42 from the 2013 test posted above to me?
I can sort of see why D is correct, but I don’t see why C is incorrect. I thought the DCPIP dye was essentially “stealing” the electrons and thus would inhibit photosynthesis?

@randomandweird Yeah, sorry, the format’s a bit off; I don’t really know why. I don’t think it matters too much though since you get practice either way. As for the questions, I don’t think there’s too much of a difference? The questions are a bit shorter than the other mock exam, but they’re still pretty long and require the same analytic critical thinking. Since CB released it, it’s pretty genuine, but if you want, you can trust the other mock exam more.

That’s the only official practice exam I have other than the other one posted on this thread, sorry :c

@doodledork

No need to apologize! It’s really a lot of help. I just wanted to be sure.

@Verbose Isn’t DCPIP acting as NADP+, an electron acceptor in PS? Therefore, it doesn’t inhibit the biochemical reaction…
I hope that’s what the question was getting at.
