*******Official AP Biology Thread 2013-2014*******

As far as calculating what you need to score to get a 5, my AP Euro teacher showed us a sheet they used to determine what score you get. Maybe they have one of those for biology.

I’m looking for the full practice exam for this year: 2013-2014. Anyone have a link or copy they can share?

Hey guys,

This is the first year I am taking any APs, and I was wondering how people are preparing for the AP Biology exam. I have bought the Cliffnotes review book, and know of the Bozeman Biology and CrashCourse videos, but I wanted to know how people are specifically studying using the review book (i.e. making outlines for each chapter). I am aiming to get a 5 as I want to go into premed, and was wondering if anybody could give me any tips or tell me about their study schedule.

Thanks!

This was used to score the 2008 AP Biology exam, which had a different curriculum. I think it’ll provide similar information though if you want to score practice tests. Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board;
Happy studying! :)>-

Here’s an example of the new one.
It’s out of 99 points. Last year, 78 was needed for a 5.

@TotallyTrudy‌ , actually, the test’s are completely different and the old curve is nothing like the new curve.
Old AP bio practice exams are worthless and provide no help at all. Just see for yourself.

so are Barron’s practice tests sufficient?

i made a 5 on the ap bio exam last year, so if anyone has any questions or whatever (as it is still a pretty new test), feel free to contact me

How indepth do we need to know Anatomy/Physiology and Plants? My teacher barely taught us it and looking at the Barrons Bio book (the newest one) has alot of terms and concepts I haven’t learned. I’d rather not waste time going as indepth as the barron book goes unless it goes as indepth on the exam

@Zeppelin7‌ there were a decent amount of questions on anatomy and physiology topics, such as the immune system and blood hemoglobins and whatnot, but i don’t think i encountered anything on plant anatomy. i think it is out of the scope of the course. i, too, had barron’s, and was stressed because we didn’t go over plants, but im 99% positive they dropped it.

PS barron’s review and practice tests were awesome

My AP Bio teacher is teaching to the old AP test, and is for some reason in denial that the test changed based on how his curriculum is configured. What can I do to prepare?

@feedbacker‌ Hey im self studying for ap bio this year and im following barrons and bozeman videos, do u think that will be enough, also could you give me some tips in managing time for the new exam since i heard that it was a long test. Which topics do you think are the most imp ones? --Badly in need of your help, rosypink

^new version practice exam link^ print or save while you can. don’t know where the answers are so we’ll need to discuss them here or if someone could please find them.

OMG thanks @DaneBrick‌ !!! Those questions are literally almost somewhat the same from the Barron’s 4th edition review book!!! I feel so much confident now since I already took barrons practice test !!
Ugh but I can’t seem to find the answers!!! >.< where did u find it?

@Jay1503 someone posted it in another thread and I’m trying to spread it around so that maybe we can compile a google doc for the answers. Or even better, someone may have them

Someone was so nice as to message me the answers to the MC and grid-ins so I might post a little google doc with them soon.

Where can i find the answers?

The document that supplysider posted has answers with explanations…

Is it in a different thread or ??? sry I am new to this…

@Chessy18 is the link working for you?
