Official AP Calculus Thread for 2009

I’m being so incredibly irrational right now. This test means nothing to me in terms of credits, yet I’m still freaking out about it.

I know the material well enough to get a 5 on AB, but I signed up for BC (having a junior year mindset), and I know literally no BC material.

It really doesn’t matter since I won’t skip calculus II and will get a good AB subscore (probably, I’d really like someone to clarify exactly how the subscore works). Worst case scenario: I take a placement test to get out of calculus I, right?

meh, I dunno why I’m stressing.

guys what are some obscure formulas i should put in my calculator for bc?

Why would you sign up for the Calculus BC test if you know nothing about Calculus BC, which is like 40% of the questions lol.

I give you props, but if you could you should try and take AB IMO.

I signed up in January…I didn’t know I’d be this bad with the procrastinating/having no motivation.

After looking over past free responses of calculus AB in collegeboard, the questions are gradually getting harder, so good luck guys =/ im hoping for a 5

Ok, so test is over!! and I didn’t think it was so bad. The multiple choice was cake. The only part that was a little tricky was the second section of Part B in the blue book. Hopefully I pulled off a 4.

Man, the multiple choices were pretty decent, I probably got some sort of 75% or summat on that. A rude shock, to be frank, but at least it’s a decent percentage. The FRQ’s were all pretty easy until the last one. I was killed by that one :/…

What do y’all think the curve’s gonna be? 70?

no idea how curves work but I thought it was decent - I feel like I’ve got a solid 5.

great. I did bleh on the mc , and failed 2 of the frq, and people seem to think this is easy.

I thought the BC FRQ was extremely easy, and the MC wasnt too bad though the Calc MC made me feel a little unsecure for some reason

your not the only one!

i spend so much time memorizing those trig identities and log laws and blah blah blah and after all i did not use any of them!

i skipped like 7 on MC…and thought the FR was pretty…challenging…i did some doodles…

the calculator part for MC was hard too…

the weird thing is…all the things I spend time reviewing on,they are not included in the test at all!!! its those weird…questions i did not study.

I’d be happy to get a 3…

urrr…at least its over!

but i have to say, this test is much easier than the past AP exams my teacher gave to us. even the FR, it was pretty simple …

but the point is! I did not study them!!!

i found that the mc wasnt too bad (w/o calculator was tough though) and that for the frq’s it was the opposite- calculator ones were easy and the other set was pretty hard. overall, not nearly as bad as i thought it would be

Err it didn’t go too well for me…
The non calculator MC part was wicked easy… and then I though the calc part of MC was hard.
And the FRQ… wth… it wasn’t what I expected to be like from taking practice tests.

Did anyone else find it odd that they tested area/volume so little?

^
I was very happy. xD

^ omg yes! i studied volume/area but was surprised to not see them!

again…oh gee why the problems i reviewed is not on the test why why why!!!

this exam is general/ simpler than the reviews! its so different.

man i hope AP euro exam can be like this one and gov one…

no exponential growth at all from what i remember…epic win

yeah, was hoping for one of those area/volume frqs

that was so weird. every test for the past few years has had an area problem as the first frq, so it was a shock we didn’t see one. the last frq was ridiculous. no one in either of our bc classes could do it. i thought the hardest part was the non-calc mult choice. I either guessed well, or guessed really badly. I guess I’ll find out in July!

And that too a really easy one…seriously.
Messed up towards the last two FRQs but did fine overall. Expecting around the borderline range for a 5 here.

I won’t lie, calculator MC was confusing.
