I wish there were more resources that are reflective of this year’s exam to practice with… ugh.

I already did the multiple choice for 2014, so i’m going to look at the free response this weekend. I am going to review important topics like thermochem and acid base chem also. It’s my second time going through Barron’s, so i’m just looking over weak areas

I really think that the curve will be similar to that of AP Bio last year. The curve for Bio last year was like 85% and higher is a 5. I did pretty well on the 2014 MC but I’m not so sure about the FRQs especially the lab question if it appears.

I’m so nervous because I literally know nothing. I tried to study out of Barron’s because my teacher doesn’t know how to teach, but I forget everything minutes after I read it. Now I’m just hoping that my guesswork will get me some points.

I believe they reduced the amount of ochem on the exam, you shouldn’t need to know any naming or anything, just how the structures explain properties (LDF, polarity, hydrogen bonding)

99% of the time they give you the name with a picture, unless they are asking for a lewis dot diagram. If they are asking for diagrams its very basic.

“Additionally, to ensure
alignment with college-level standards, part of the score-setting process involves
comparing the performance of AP students with the performance of students
enrolled in comparable courses in colleges throughout the United States. In
general, the AP composite score points are set so that the lowest raw score needed
to earn an AP score of 5 is equivalent to the average score among college students
earning grades of A in the college course. Similarly, AP Exam scores of 4 are
equivalent to college grades of A–, B+, and B. AP Exam scores of 3 are equivalent
to college grades of B–, C+, and C.”

Any tips for last minute weekend cramming? Like what topics to focus on? My main issue is frqs, so anything that could help me other than old frq practices?

@mathpop, they changed the test this year, just like how they changed the ap bio test last year. Only 5% last year got 5s on the AP Bio so I’m thinking that they would do the same with Chem. The curve is likely to be higher than that of previous years.

Can someone list the topics we need to know/study for this exam? There should be like 10 maybe? We would all really appreciate it! Also do you guys know any websites or pdfs I can look at to study? Any review books? Thanks! I’m freaking out, can someone help me study? It’s my first AP test!
