One’s are not reserved for us CC kids (hopefully :p). At least impress me with a 2 :D.

@xxx123456xxx

It’s worse getting a 1 than not even trying.

@xxx123456xxx they can give you points for writing down formulas sometimes, also if you know how to do say e but you don’t know a-d write down random answers and they will give you ECF

Just write an essay to the reader lol. Make it interesting and he/she will probably give you 1 point.

@xxx123456xxx
But like someone said, Barron’s is a lot harder. Also, the curve is more bell shaped so you’ll likely get at 3. Less one’s but less 5’s too. (If it does follow suit)

@NIGHTLOCK any guesses about the curve? I can get a 5 easily with old curve, but if they switch to Bio Curve I can’t. Labs aren’t my thing (I self-studied), I’m a math guy.

whats the estimated percentage needed for a 5,4,3?

Honestly, curve will probably be a 5=70%, 4=55%, 3=45%, ect.

% for a 5 will go up for sure I’m thinking.

@cxcharlie when you say it worse getting a 1 than not even trying–do you mean that it is better to just not try or is it better to get the 1 and say that I tried. And @NIGHTLOCK I sincerely hope that’s the case because I got a one on the Barron test–I hope I can get a 3. But honestly I’ll be ecstatic if I get a 2. @dsm2017 ok I’ll try to do that. I made the mistake of taking the Practice version and then doing the Timed version which was the same exact one lol. I mean on the first run I got a 1 maybe a 2 I didn’t even bother grading my FRQ’s.

Might be able to do it if they are that generous. I hope they are.

Grading your own FRQs can either be extremely exciting or just depressing, one of two extremes lol. Usually I cry afterwards, but that’s just me.

so overall this year is supposedly easier than pasts? is that the general thought?

The PR FRQs are easier for some reason though. What we really need is a 10 point FRQ on something like redox and another 10 point FRQ on like atomic radii/electroneg./ionization energy and another on something stupid like enthalpy/entropy/Gibbs.

It works two ways @dsm2017 the test is easier, the curve is much, much harder. Pick your poison.

@xxx123456xxx Cancel your scores if you feel like you got a 1. It looks terrible. I can get a 1 in AP physics right now, it means absolutely nothing except that you failed.

@NIGHTLOCK mmm. I took the released one from this year and got a 44/60 (over 70%) but I still got a 4 based on last years grading scale. My FRQ’s were terrible. When I’m lucky I ace them, but once I don’t get one I go on tilt.

@dsm2017
I got 66/75 on 2002 exam, and 44/60 on this one. I think it’s considerably harder, considering I didn’t take the class and don’t know any labs

@NIGHTLOCK i guess thats true… my chem teacher wasn’t the best so i think id be happier with an easier tests but that just means that everyone who had a good chem teacher knows the material more in depth than i do…

@cxcharlie But I took the AP Course–other people told me that taking the course and not taking the test looks bad. Also I’m taking other AP exams can I choose which AP exams to send to my college or do I have to send them all?
I got a 38/60 on the multiple choice–what does this mean for me?

The thing about these AP classes for me is that my teacher is a chill guy. He’s cool, but he doesn’t go at the pace we need to go at, so we’re missing half the material. It’s extremely hard to catch up self-studying since I’m taking 4 APs this semester with tons of homework and Chem was last semester, so I’ve forgotten things as well. @cxcharlie That’s extremely impressive, for me anyways. If you do that well on the test, chances are, you’ll get a 5. But then you still have to work on FRQs. @dsm2017 Kind of the same problem here.
Anyways, I feel like the FRQ could easily swing one way or another. There might be questions we’re strong at or questions we’re absolutely horrible at. Just hope for the best.

Converting a 38 will get you ~a 4 or 5. You should be fine dood. As long as you didn’t screw up the multiple choice, then you might get a 3 or at worst a 2. I doubt it though. I would just take it, and unless you feel terrible just keep the score. It is true it doesn’t look good, but getting a 1 is by far worse (which you wont.)
