***Official AP Human Geography Thread 2014-2015***

Also, I know it’s virtually impossible to predict the curve, but do you guys think a 50/75 and a 67% on the essays will be good enough for a 4 This year?

@Falconsroach7 Yes that is practically a 5 on the previous scales of past years. If you honestly predict those are your scores expect a 4 but don’t be surprised if it’s a 5.

In previous years that would have been a five for sure.

Is a 60 percent on McQs and a 90 percent on frqs a four or a five?

use appass.com

The late exam essays were hard

what did everyone put for the centripetal and centrifugal forces on question 1?

what were they about?

hi everyone if you go to @aptrevor on twitter (you do not even need a twitter just search on google @aptrevor) the score distributions are posted and there is some other information on the exams there

Wow, I’m surprised that 30% of students got 0 points on Q1. That seems very high for that question. Thanks for the info Calchong.

2015 AP Human Geography scores:

**5: 12.1%;
4: 20.5%;
3: 21.2%;
2: 16.8%;
1: 29.4%. **

These may shift slightly as late exams are scored.

Improve AP Hum Geo scores by helping students understand political redistricting. 30% of students got 0 pts on Q1

AP Human Geography students did especially well on FRQ2 on the “lingua franca.”

Are ^ those percentage accurate for this year?

I’m sorry, but how did 30% NOT KNOW GERRYMANDERING!!!

@pathospablo I don’t know, I thought that that question was very easy. Most of the people in my class thought it was redistricting.

@TP2000 Wow…

Some kids in my class got it confused with redlining.

Got a 5! The phenomenon represented by the graph/map was gerrymandering, a phenomenon that can occur during redistricting depending on who controls the state legislature. That’s what I wrote anyways, then I elaborated on the ramifications of gerrymandering (i.e. more control of one party in the House, dilutes people’s votes (one person =/= one vote, etc.) It was easy for me because I also took AP Gov this year (also a 5).

Got a 4. Not super disappointed because I totally bombed FRQ #1 lol. Really, my main concern was european history and I got a 5 there so I’m just happy to have gotten such generous prompts for 2 and 3 on this exam to get a 4 :smiley:

@Falconsroach7 I got a 4 too :slight_smile: I wish I got a 5, but I completely bombed the MC so I’m still fine with a 4.

@LosingCrayon The MC was so hard. I probably got 50%> of it right. I didn’t know whether or not I would get a 4 or a 5, but the FRQs saved me.
