Official AP Psychology thread 2012

What do you all think that the raw score should be for a 3? I have a bad feeling that I didn’t do too good haha

Score on 2004 released exam taken right before actual exam

  • 148/150

Estimated 2012 score

  • 118/150

The curve is going to be much more generous.

we still seem mixed on what’s more likely to cause heart disease…

  1. competive
  2. hostile, fast paced, …etc i don’t remembe.r
    Anybody have a clear answer?

I didn’t really talk about location. I mentioned the location for the word list, but I just said retinal disparity helped created depth perception, I didn’t say anything about the position of the two eyes… oh well

actstudent, why don’t you write a letter to college board disputing that question?

@actstudent

I don’t think any of us can remember clearly/have a clear answer, to be honest.
It was pretty close and no one can remember the exact wording of the question it seems.

ok thanks. I believe both could have worked, so I don’t think it should be counted

@writingdog

It might be fine still because talking about location made my essay sound really idiotic (it was difficult to smoothly incorporate location into explanations)

And that question is pretty disputable, imo.
Does one person write a letter or do many people write letters?

and for when to release information…
is it never or w/ written consent?

actstudent
I was torn on that question too. I knew that competitiveness marked a Type A personality, but I also knew that they had little patience and kept wanting to move on to other goals and felt like there was little time in the day… the “hostility” part kind of threw me off but I chose the second one, just cause it made more sense during the time, but I really am unsure

Its fuccckinnggg competitve and fast paced !!!

So, the 4 Traits of the Type A Personality Are:

Free Floating Hostility:
Individuals with Type A personality are often known to have a short fuse, inability to control their temper and free floating hostility is one of the predominant traits in these individuals. They are impatient & tend to get irritated if things don’t go exactly as they had planned. Little issues can upset them. It is often advised to take stress management classes for the sake of their own physical well-being.
Aggressiveness:
Individuals with this type of personality also tend to be excessively aggressive. Aggressive individuals like to take charge, are comfortable with having authority, power & responsibility, they are highly goal-oriented, tend to do what is takes to get the job done. They like to take action & often like to participate in competitive sports.
Time Urgency:
A lot of importance is given to time & deadlines. Even minor things like waiting in line or taking longer than little to get their point across can irritate these individuals. They are of the opinion that every second is valuable & wasting their time is the last thing they want to do. They may interrupt the person speaking & finish it for them just to make it faster. The impatience is usually evident in their demeanor & they generally don’t try to hide it.

Competitiveness:

Oh god guys for the annabell one I said for ethnocentrism that she would adapt to college if she found people who were similar in ethnicity to her and other things like that do you think I’ll get it wrong like my teacher told me you can bacially put any bs as long as you explain it and make It seem true

Wait why is everyone talking about location? if I just talked about how the two terms related to each other, did I miss a critical part of the prompt? Please tell me I didn’t.

@jappleze
haha that has nothing to do with ethnocentrism, so I’m pretty sure you won’t get that point. but nice try, that made me chuckle. don’t sweat about it, it’s only one point.

what did you guys say for serotonin → reduction of depression.
did we have to mention anything for location?

@writingdogWell I also put it was because she might believe that her Race or whatever is superior so that she would bond with people f her race or whatever haha but whatever it’s still just a point

whAt IS THIS WHOLE LOCATION THING? What part of the test referenced location? I did not see anything about location on the test. Did I screw up the free response if I did not write anything about location because for the second questions I just wrote how the two terms were related. Did I miss something?

@jappleze
Oh, yeah, mentioning that thinking your race is superior should get you the point then. Nice!

@APchemistry
Don’t freak out. It did in fact mention how location or position or something along those lines of the first concept influenced the second concept.
No one knows if you need to explicitly state “___ is located here.” in your essay ^^
