Official AP Psychology thread 2012

and non normative answers wouldnt be creative, just random

Right when I saw divergent, I chose normative and divergent as my answer. Barron’s said creativity has to do with divergent thinking, but did not mention any relationship between creativity and normative, original, or valuable. I don’t understand how creativity can be “valuable”. That implies that creativity is desirable, but creativity is by no means always desirable.

Look, if you dont believe me, I looked it up in the Myer’s Psych AP textbook (newest edition). Word for word definition of creativity

“creativity: the ability to produce ideas that are both novel and valuable.”

I too chose the divergent answer because I thought original and valuable was one of those trick answers that looked right.

Was the question about the person who gets into fights and can’t keep a job anti-social disorder?

@pentupenguin

correct

My thoughts were that normative makes sure you’re not just spurting out random things, but things that were in the right range but also divergent from regular thinking.

If it’s in a Psych textbook though…

I’m mad because my teacher NEVER taught us 4/7 bulletpoints for first open ended. we were never taught prospective memory, compliance, ethnocentrism, and agoraphobia. when we went back to her she only knew the phobia one……

Hey for the question that was like" which scans are used to scan the brain for activity related to glucose or sth"? Which one was the answer? It was EEG, PET, MRI, ECG, CAT .
I chose PET scans… but might have been EEG? Help:/

I say we just do a psychology experiment on one of the test makers n find out the relationship between CB test maker and messed up questions :)

PET measures chemicals, so that’s what I put.

@studytogo it was 100% PET! don’t second guess yourself!

with glucose it was PET.
For the sleep, was it EEG every1?
Also, was it causual or casual relationship?

@actstudent yup PET then EEG then it was causal which is experimental

@studytogo

PET scan, EEG are used during sleep studies usually

@apuser
I went through Barron’s and it didn’t have prospective, but it did have compliance, ethnocentrism, and agoraphobia.
I ended up putting down something that might vaguely fit for prospective memory and blindly guessing for compliance.

I’m guessing your psych teacher didn’t specialize in social psychology? Because these terms were all basically social.

@apuser – I don’t think anyone here knew prospective memory.

Compliance would be her following her mother’s orders to apply to a specific college for example right?

What’s compliance?

@meatkabob considering the fact we were taught social psych in 2 class periods would prob explain why we weren’t taught it ahah. and yeah I have barron’s but i clearly overlooked those terms :confused: oh well.

what was the social learning theory one? watching his brother or whatever?
