* OFFICIAL AP U.S. Government & Politics Exam *

your teacher's probably right about the vice pres too...i wouldn't know much to put about the VP though.

1) leader of senate (cast vote in case of tie)
2) how much influence he has depends on president (bush/cheney)
3) first in line of succession

any other particulars of the VP people should know?

What about general questions about government? (elitism(Mills?)/plurality/bureacracy(WEBER)/marxism?)

v.p will most likely have pulls that the pres doenst have to bring in voters that the prez wuldnt be able to get w/o the v.p...

Can anybody go into detail about what we need to know about economics? Do we need to know the theories?

the most important thing to remeber about the supreme court is how the supreme court uses the 14th amendment to extend the bill of rights to state laws

for economics: capitalism/laissez faire, big business/regulations, weighs and means committee, new deal, federal reserve, trickle down economics/reagonomics, budget

bah, i take it back, forget it. it won't be an essay question.

but it might be an essay question

it wont...its way too specific

Can someone please point out the article and section in the Constitution about the VP? Thanks.

Article I, Section 3 -- duties as President of the Senate.
Article II -- ability to take over as President during times of impeachment, incapacitation, or death.

I was talking to my Gov't teacher today and he said you can even use bullet points if you want to answer the free response questions. As long as you answer with the information they are looking for, they don't care. You don't need a full on essay with an ICD, etc.

just a quick question.

How ACCURATE is barron's practice exam comapred to real thing?

is it harder/easier/totaly different

Chanman, I've been wondering that myself. My teacher told me the questions in Barrons are based on the AP questions.

Barrons seems ridiculously easy. If its like this, I don't understand how there aren't more people who get 5s.

I've been studying for about 2 weeks now (self-study). 50min of definitions studying in study hall 5days a week. And read the pr book once, along with a practice test.

Just letting people know, this test isn't as easy as you might think. It has one of the lowest overall scores of all the AP test, if not the lowest.

Examination Grade Government & Politics: United States
students % At
5) 7,029 6.2
4) 21,145 18.7
3) 31,175 27.6
2) 36,419 32.3
1) 17,126 15.2

Number of Students 112,894
3 or Higher / % 59,349 (52.6)
Mean Grade 2.69
Standard Deviation 1.13

I don't even know what bureaucracy really is ( and I know its a major section covered on the test)- anyone care to elaborate?

I decided today that I'm not even going to put a minute towards studying for this test, seeing that I need a 5 for credit, and that is not going to happen. Half year course +not reading half the chapters+no elaboration on the chapters we read= me not getting a 5.

Kinglin, what makes it so hard? The questions I've done, in both Barrons and Kaplans, seem to be almost common sense.

Why did you sign up, freakish?!

I've read the PR book; now I'm trying to review.. I don't know what to do. If you go into detail, there is an overwhelming amount of information.. other than that, it's pretty easy.

I'm really worried about the essays though. Seeing that I've never really been into politics, I don't have a lot of general or background knowledge.. ugh.

addicted-
even tho it's common sense
and i do the test in 25 minutes

i still get 52-53 on the practice test.

there are things that just dont click in ur head when u think about this stuff

and, barrons has some wrong stuff (bad questions also) in it

52-53 questions out of 60 is fine.....

52-53 range is good. On a percentage scale its in the high 80s, which is (as long as you have good essays) a solid 5.

Barrons does have some bad questions and wrong information, which seems to be consistent throughout their review books.
