Official Ap Us History Thread! (: 5/9/08

What is the correlation of REA and AMSCO multiple choice to the real MC on the AP? How many do you need to get right the REA MC to equal a raw score of 50 in the real thing? (ie without penalty for wrong answers?)

D took a MC from REA on Sunday with NO PREP and got 38 right. She has since been studying. Just wanted to know what is the correlation between performance on REA MC vs the AP MC.

All the best to everyone of you in your respective APs and great finish to the school year.

Thanks

Does anyone else find the REA tests hard? I took, like, 3 last night and got minus 13-22 on all of them.

Took a practice MC in history today and got a 76/80. I'm feeling confident.

this is going to be so much fun! HAHA

Anyone have the 1996 answers?

I've been studying really hard, but I'm not going to become overconfident. I'd rather be surprised and happy than surprised and disappointed at my score.

I often try to avoid disappointment by setting my expectations low.

Heck, if I manage to get a 3, I'd cry tears of joy. I'm terrible at FRQ (I get like 2-4). My teacher gives a bunch of practice essays but never tells us how to improve. I really want to see an example of a 9 essay.

AMX i have the 96 answers..

Add another to that list.
I'm trying to keep my hopes up, though. I had an awesome teacher, but w/ about 3,000 other AP tests to study for, I'm just hoping not to get sub-3. Or else said awesome teacher will burn my house down.

Blackberry: This is the link to a bunch of essays from the APUSH of previous years. It has examples and commentary on the essays. It also gives examples of different levels of writing, so you can see the difference

AP Central - Welcome to AP Central

Oh sweet! Thanks! :)

hey, could someone clarify exactly what order the sections are in and how much time we get for each section? and i heard we get like 10 minutes to read over the documents or something? either my teacher never told us this or i'm just an idiot, but either way, someone help please!

lopo,

AP: U.S. History

I thought it was really helpful to look at the presidents in chronological order and just figure out what happened during their presidency. It helps with

Oh no, the AP Central site isn't working anymore. Did anyone download the PDFs and is willing to share?

Good luck on Friday, everyone. (:

I studied from AMSCO last week for SATII's, I hope I remember everything on the AP's, though. ;[ Frankly, I'm too tired to study from Calc.

anyone? how difficult are the AP MC compared to the REA & AMSCO MC?

Are you better off omitting than guessing? On REA MC, D has been guessing and getting 42 right, 24 wrong, 13 omit. She has gotten several wrong even when she can eliminate 2 choices.

Thanks!

....freaking out.... o______O

But I got a 5 on AP world last year, so i'm hoping that my good history test karma will continue. I hope we have a DBQ as easy as the Han/Roman empire that was on teh world exam last year!!! That would be awesome! But with my luck, it'll probably be on trust-busting or the new deal or something horrible...

I'm also hoping my WHAP grade crosses over to APUSH this year...but last year's World test, I had a different DBQ-on the Pirates of the Caribbean! - and the two regular essays were on something I remembered nothing about, like the Mughal empire...so i hope AP US goes well tomorrow and I get essays I knwo stuff about!

Can someone explain just how many points we need to get a 5? How much % of the MC/Essays is that?
