***Official AP World History Thread 2014-2015***

CCOT - Technology from 1750 to 1900 CE.
DBQ - 9 Documents on ethic violence
Comparison/Contrast - Choose 2 empires: Han Empire, Roman Empire, and I think Gupta Empire. Talk about how the belief systems interacted in economic, political, or social.

Pretty easy, but I had no experience in essays before so I don’t know if I covered everything lol. I ran out of time for MC (didn’t take the class at school)… I think I might cancel my score. The curve is more harsh too, right?

I have a serious question. I’m going to be out the country during the week we get our scores. Will I still be able to view them from that country?

@InFiniTeCollege yes, though it will be on the last day (July 10th) along with a few other US states.

I cant wait for the results to come out.

July 9th at 6 am is too long to wait!!!

Thanks for the response! However, I was looking around and it says that July 10th is only for Hawaii and Alaska. Oh well, I hope I get my scores.

Edit: It mostly is talking about international

July 10th

What’s a VPN?

And just change my IP address? Doesn’t sound like a bad idea. Thanks

I think I got a very low score on the MC (as in around the 40-50 mark) due to my killer headache… I was basically sick the entire time, so I’m not expecting anything very high for the MC section. However, I thought the essays were rather easy, and would like to bet I at least got a 6 on all three of them. Do you think the curve will be generous enough for me to have a 5?

Also, do any of you know if the curve is set based on the scores from the entire U.S.? Or is it mostly based upon the scores in your region? A lot of people have been saying that they think they only missed 5 or less on the MC, but the majority of the people who took the test with me thought they were around the 50-60 mark.

THE SCORES PERCENTAGES ARE OUT!
2015 AP World History scores: 5: 6.4%; 4: 14%; 3: 31.3%; 2: 30.1%; 1: 18.2%.
2014 AP World History scores: 5: 6.6%; 4: 16%; 3: 31.9%; 2: 27.8%; 1: 17.7%

AP World History students generally scored well across all periods in the multiple-choice section, especially period 5 (1750-1900).
On the AP World History DBQ (influenza/20th century), the average score was 3 out of 9 points.
Students generally scored slightly better on essay 2 (labor changes/continuities, 1450-1900) than essay 3 (trade networks, 600 CE–1450 CE).

I’m surprised DBQ got the lowest average score because isn’t it usually the 3rd essay? And DBQs for World History seem easier to write compared to APUSH.

But the influenza DBQ was really easy… how can that be… ???
and the trade networks frq can’t have been worse than labor changes!!!

Lol wow I thought I got a 5 but now I don’t think so anymore

wait no but really why do you think the DBQ average score was so low…?

@cocolover123 Maybe more people assumed it would be on something they know so they panicked while writing it? I’m definitely more at ease writing essays on subjects I learned alot about versus something small like influenza in the 20th century. If I recall correctly my textbook didn’t even mention about the flu in the last chapters of the book lol.

It’s startling that this could be seen as difficult… The test is being changed next year so I doubt the level of difficulty for the DBQ is going to change with it.

That’s crazy. I think the reason so many people score low is because many sophomores take the class thinking it’ll be easy and they don’t end up studying correctly for the exam (they try to memorize everything). That and maybe the teachers give them wrong “formulas” to use when writing the essays.

I don’t know about you guys but the influenza DBQ wasn’t hard! The fact that so many people got only 3 points is startling. That means they just got a thesis point and an additional document point and maybe one point for analyzing a document. How concerning.

Got a 4

Didn’t expect that I thought the exam was really easy :frowning:

I got a 5! I got a 5! I got a 5!

I got the slave DBQ… It was pretty fun and easy… Though I’m sure not everyone will share the same ‘feelings’…
