Has anyone seen Gangster Squad? I’ve heard good things and bad things. I was planning on seeing it anyways because of Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, but I wanna know what to expect from the movie hahaa

I don’t think there’s an IB program where I’m from-St. Kitts, Caribbean.

Will be considered as a us citizen for financial aid purposes, yay!

My score is awful -1810 so I’m worried but I did this on my own so I’m content a bit.

I applied day before deadline so that explains why I haven’t received an id, thanks @Kendrickgirl.

Wrote on Eugenia Charles-first female p.m. of Dominica and the region.

Haven’t seen Gangster Squad sorry! Should be good though, it’s action and Gosling. I have to see The Great Gatsby, positive or negative review :D.

I don’t get questions, I get awkward pauses and stares when it’s known that I’m applying to an all girl school.

@espere: As long as you put a lot of work in you essays, you have as good a chance as anyone else of getting accepted! Good luck to you! And hahaa, I’ve gotten quizzical looks too!

I think I’m going to see Gangster Squad this weekend, and yessss, the Great Gatsby!! So excited for that one!

Has anyone gotten an email from Barnard yet for checking their application status
It’s been a month for me and they didn’t pick up my phone call

School does not start again there until after MLK day. So that means, at the very least, student workers in admissions (who most likely cover the phones) are not there, so they are short staffed Or they may even not be open (though I doubt that). And this past month since you submitted your app includes holidays, so you have to allow for that.

@berries123 and @kendrickgirl this is late but I wrote about Grace!! haha, guess we all had similar ideas! Barnard is a bit of a reach for me (2030 SAT and a 4.1/5.0 GPA…oh well) but I really am hoping to get in! I hope to see you both there though :)

They said my fee wasn’t paid (which I paid for it the same time I submitted my application), and they said they haven’t received my supplement, but the CommonApp says they downloaded it.

I really wouldn’t worry about it. I contacted my admissions officer and she assured me they would contact me if anything was truly missing. It’s now their turn to sort and organize things :)

For the past several years the admissions results have been mailed out around the beginning of the last week of March. Just like with ED, international students get an e-mail and US residents get either an Express mail package of acceptance or the proverbial “thin envelope” via regular US mail. I’m not gonna lie: it’s kind of torture in that different areas of the country get their results days apart, and not always in the order you’d expect. IE, just because you live closer to NYC, your results may come later than someone, say, in Atlanta or Texas.

You all will have lots of support here through this. And it’s all worth it!

It’s not “express” just “priority”, which is the same thing as first class and takes longer than express. The same as the thin envelope mail. They just use one of the big USPS flatrate priority envelopes. That’s what it was last year anyway.
