*****Official Boston College EA Class of 2018 Thread****

@Alliecat33 I live in Sarasota!

Anyone who DID receive an acceptance letter: Did you check agora portal too, and did it change or not? I’m from Oklahoma and haven’t gotten a letter yet, nor has the portal changed for me. This is crazy, the way they notify seems so disorganized.

I think BC has realized they made a mistake and put the portal up to early Because when people call they say I cannot confirm what portal says

It says on the acceptance letter that portals will change on the 19th so I don’t think it was an accident. It definitely still seems like a weird system though. But I hope everyone who hasn’t gotten their letters gets in tomorrow!

So then it’s the Mail carriers fault

What I’m confused about is there were people in my city who got their letters and agora change (acceptances), but I received no letter or change. I called admissions and they said they were all sent Monday night and that the agora change isn’t a sign of anything. SO CONFUSED… There must be some systematic approach to this but I have know idea what. But there was a post from Florida who got their letter, eagle1095

I know people in Florida have gotten it but the people in Tampa/Florida haven’t. also I think the admissions office can’t say Agora means something because they are very adamant that they don’t post decisions online.

Here’s to hoping that the Agora Portals are being updated in waves and that we still have about 7 hours for ours to be updated!

So here’s to hoping that maybe they haven’t updated the Tampa kids yet? fingers crossed Praying for just a little hope. At the very least I’m hoping for a deferral. Flat out rejection would be awful. I wonder when our letters will come in.

Yeah, I really hope so… Is BC your top choice, @Alliecat33?

Just got an acceptance letter in Ohio after my portal changed earlier today

I did not get the portal change, but when I refreshed the “applicant status” page, a message popped up telling me the status of my financial aid documents. Does anyone know what this means?

I’ve been refreshing the page for the last hour, no change. I guess I didn’t get in

Mailed admissions packet received in Baltimore, MD – son is in!

(Also noted that his online portal had changed earlier today, so wasn’t a complete surprise, but still. Packet was mailed regular mail, as far as we can tell.)

The letter noted that he was admitted to the Honors Program and that he was being offered 4 years of housing ← I would’ve blown right by that remark were it not for the earlier posts in this thread regarding BC housing… Now I appreciate it for the perk that it (apparently) is!

@ryanmd211 Yeah it is :confused: I’m starting to get really disappointed. Was it yours? Any change yet?

does BC send out acceptance letters first? and THEN rejections?

@palmtree456 I am in the same situation as yourself. When refreshed, the portal page leads me to financial aid documents. However, there are no documents under the “required documents section”. I think we got cut… Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

@ajaja123 I was just confused because I didn’t apply for financial aid…
is it the same for everyone who either did/didn’t apply for aid

My d got a small envelope today. Not sure if deferred or denied since she isn’t home yet from her tutoring gig. Her stats if you are interested are 3.89 UW, 4.36 W, 2100 SAT.

I got accepted even though I still haven’t recieved the letter in the mail. My agora portal changed and two new tabs appeared. One allows you to pay the fee for enrollment. If your portal offers this then you definitely got in. My college counselor called Boston college after I showed her my changed portal and the admissions officer emailed me my acceptance letter.

Good luck!
