****Official Boston College RD Class of 2018 Decision Thread****

Rejected. I’m from NC.

anyone’s portal change yet?

No although D was accepted, and the letter specifically says the portal will not change until March 27.

omg @washdcmom i live like in dc suburbs so i probs will get a letter today. im freaking out. ahhhhhh

i also got deferred but i got straight As first semester too! i hope that helps:) can i ask what ethnicity u are? idk if not being white will help me!

being an international applicant sucks… i just called admission office & they told me that I just have to wait for the mail… :frowning:

Oy, I’m pretty sure the mail’s in my school’s postbox (I go to a boarding school in New England, 2 and 1/2 hours away from Boston), but I’m traveling Quebec for spring break. Nobody on campus is answering my email to check the mail for me.

Upstate NY got the letter today–accepted! 95.5 average w/very heavy course load, 2220 SAT (1st, only attempt), mediocre extracurriculars, and a few awards. My essay was about a Bob Dylan song (Hurricane), thought it was pretty good. Not sure about my teacher recs. Good luck to everyone else!

Still waiting in California

How much do you think a letter of recommendation from Doug Floutie would help my chances? I’m taking a solid workload this year (AP Chem, AP euro, AP enviro, Civics, AP Spanish, English 4h) and I have good ECs. The thing that would kill me are my test scores (1890 sat, 29 act, 720 math 1, 670 math 2, 640 bio molecular). I should get my letter around 4 pm est, so I’ll be back to let you guys know.

Just wondering… Are the rejection and waitlists are also sent together, or only accepted ones? I first heard it’s only for acceptance, but I also see people saying they are rejected/waitlisted above… I’m trying to ask people on my school campus to check my mailbox, instead lol.

@humanities2014- All decision letters are mailed out at the same time.

@dreambig101 Good to know. Thanks! Oh, and is there a difference btw delivery speed, or are they all sent at a “regular” rate? Thank you.

Recd letter in northern ca. D waitlisted. Will not be accepting it. Have admission in different school that is higher on her priority list

Just found out the decision. I got the small envelope. I’m on the same boat as @CUPKSDAD, so I won’t be accepting it. But it’s discouraging no matter what, since Boston college was high safety-low match for me. I wasn’t going to attend BC if I get into any other college, anyways.

is california getting letters today? if so, that is really fast

@humanities2014

hi, are you located near boston? or in the west coast?

@infinitely2014- I would think that it would be too soon for California to hear back today.

@dreambig101

@cupksdad received his in norcal today, so hopefully it reaches socal too

Well, CupKsDad is in California. Mail is unpredictable. Sometimes it goes coast to coast faster than the states near the school. I suspect some kids in CA will report today, as well as Portland and Seattle. At least that was our experience during EA notification.
