Official Brown 2011 Transfer Thread

@ectransfer… yes, rising juniors can be admitted for spring! a ton of my friends are juniors. they’re just graduating in december 2012 instead of may 2012.

AH leaving my school on Tuesday, and thats where Brown is mailing the decision… hope I get it in time haha.

@time4transfer - maybe call the admissions office and ask them to send it to your home address? I think they close in 7 minutes though…
OR you could wait it out and call next week… but that sounds terrifying to me.

@wellesleygirl and jaygatsby – Thanks! I’m a rising junior and would jump at the chance to go to Brown whether its spring or fall admission. Good to know.

@timefortransfer - You could try calling tomorrow morning, but I think they’ll be mailed out by then. Maybe you should contact your residence hall coordinator or whoever is in charge of where you live and give them a forwarding address.

Although I know people have said repeatedly that they are mailing today, some tiny sliver of me can’t help hoping that they dropped them in the box as they left the office last night, in which case (at least according to the post office website) it could be at my house tomorrow! Otherwise I have to wait until my dad gets back from work on Monday and gets the mail… ugh! The mail gets there at like noon and it will just be sitttttttttting there for like 6 hours… aaahhhhh =(

^ I just called them and they said they are mailing decisions on monday… and you can call up on monday to find out your decision as well…

So what happened to Friday? Did they give any explanation?

Well this is sad. When I went into the admissions office, the lady whom I spoke with did mention that they might send them out on Monday, but I didn’t want to believe that. I’m calling on Monday, I guess… Ugh that is just so scary.

That’s so frustrating! I was hoping to get my rejection letter on Monday (being pessimistic but realistic). Now I have to wait until Wednesday?!

just called: being mailed out today, and we should have them by Monday or Tuesday… I don’t know where mailed Monday is coming from…

Is there a way we can check online?

^ I called them this morning. The guy said they will be mailed out monday. So we are getting two different answers.

^ I just called and the person I spoke to said that they were “in the process of being sent out today”. Where is everyone getting the Monday information from?

No. No decisions will be online.

The information you receive regarding the day decisions will be mailed honestly depends on whom you talk to. We have all heard different things. It seems that one commonality is that you can call Monday.

I dont understand why. International mail of this importance ALWAYS gets lost.

This is all so confusing …so now to clarify: WHen are they sending the emails? And when are they sending the paper mail?

@Collegekidunh

They are NOT sending emails apparently.

They are sending paper mails today most likely.

WEll that sux! Im like 5000 miles away from my given address . Why are they doing this!?

@Collegekidunh - You can call Monday. Decisions are available over the phone beginning Monday.

^ I’m so hesitant to call the admissions office and find out. I feel like it’s so much easier to deal with rejections on paper. I imagine it must be awkward for the person delivering transfer decisions over the phone. “Sorry, you didn’t get in…”
