Official Brown 2011 Transfer Thread

No I didnt apply anywhere else. My best friend is down there and I know some other people. Cornell doesn’t get better. I regret Another spring semester here. This was a horrible semester. hated waking up

Some people love Cornell. If you go Greek, you’ll probably love Cornell. I’m in classes with pre-meds. I’m not though. If you do that, I hope you like grade deflation and don’t mind that Cornell destroys your self confidence. Sorry, that is probably really scary. Have a good attitude entering Cornell if that’s what you end up doing. It’ll make your experience more pleasant.

Also, If ur going pre-med…be ready to cry…especially during the winter.

If I wanted to go to cornell nd btw im a pre med student too …my hopes have been wiped clean

I feel really badly. Cornell may indeed be YOUR best fit school. It just isn’t mine.

I agree with nlm, don’t let people who are leaving Cornell persuade you not to attend. I will probably be transferring but my experience has been incredibly positive for the most part (and I’m not greek or anything)

Kristev4- Then why are you transferring?

Mainly for academic reasons–I’m in A&S and wanted to do more work in AAP, but the fact that they’re 2 separate colleges makes it really hard. Second, I am not a fan of Cornell’s super-rural location.

U have to admit though. There are an awful lot of people talking about trying to transfer out of Cornell in this thread…lol

Convince some Bioengineering majors to transfer out so I can have a seat!

Hey, I’m new to this thread. A lot of you are saying they told you they mailed out decisions today. Does anyone know when? I live in Boston and was wondering if there was any chance I could get mine in the mail tomorrow…
Thanks, good luck everyone!

i live 50 minutes away from brown, so i hope i won’t have to call monday. that would suck!!

I don’t think anyone knows the time the decisions were mailed. I’ll be super jealous if you get yours tomorrow though! Good luck!

My best guess is around 5 PM or later. That is when the Admissions Office closes and I know they weren’t sure if they would be able to send them out today. But if they did send them out, it was probably at the end of the day. This is just my educated guess, haha.

I still don’t understand why there is a decision box in Brown’s website…

What happens when you guys try to update your info in the Brown portal? Do you guys get a message that says, “This page is not enabled for current user role(s).”?

No, I could not update it.

Yup same message… could that mean we are all rejected? lol

I got the same message. I think we cannot update our information because they already made decisions and there is no need for us to change things? I did notice that on the Brown Admissions website: [Brown University Admission](<a href=“Undergraduate Admission | Brown University”>Undergraduate Admission | Brown University) , they removed the “decisions will be mailed mid-May” from under the “Transfer Students” heading. I guess decisions are mailed!
