anyone around what time the decisions will be up? and do we get an email? how does this work out

they said they’ll email us on saturday to check our portals and that’s when we’re supposed to check, i’m assuming it’s to control the amount of traffic that goes through the site so their servers don’t crash

Yeah i really don’t like the idea of any college being considered a “safety” b/c that’s honestly just plain disrespectful…to me, BU is like a high match/low reach in CC terminology.

@LAMuniv Thanks!

@dmichelee2014

sorry i’m behind on everything, but did BU send out emails stating this? like everyone has specific time?

thanks!

@infinitely2014 they just sent an email that said “Admission decisions will be released on the Applicant Link on March 22. Please wait until you receive our email notification that your decision is available to check your account.”

Aren’t most decisions emailed out during the evening? I feel like I’m going to have a nervous breakdown because BU is my top school choice but…so many people have much better stats than I do. I mean, good for them but I feel like I’m going to die! ^^; But my lower GPA is attributed to a severe head injury sophomore year. :/

@dmichelle2014

thanks!! :)

@mwahahahanna

decisions are usually available in the afternoon. same here! so many people with better stats but i really want to go!

@infinitely2014

I hope we both get in!! ^^
Do you also know how the second semester grades would affect their decision?
like the 3rd and 4th marking periods?
AP Statistics is absolutely my worst class. I had a C+ in both the 1st and 2nd marking periods and am looking at another one for 3rd I’m really awful at that class D’: But if BU does accept me and see that I didn’t do well 3rd marking period again and possibly 4th, would they rescind the acceptance?? I heard that it’s usually okay as long as it doesn’t get below a C but I’m not sure. :(

@mwahahahanna

yes i hope so!!
i believe 2nd semester is imporant but its alright to get Cs. only 1st semester is the most important, but you still shouldnt have grades that drop 1-2 letter grades.

i dont believe BU looks at the quarter grades. they only look at the final semester / trimester grades.

so you should be alright as long as you pass your classes.

@infinitely2014

That’s such a relief!! Thank you very much ^-^
You wouldn’t happen to know how much being a legacy would help right?
I heard that’s only like a swing decision in most cases but I’ve also heard that it increases your chances a lot. Is that really true??

@mwahahahanna im not sure how legacy works out for BU, but it can help for IVYs or even higher up schools like northwestern. but im not sure!
4 more day!

I heard (I believe it was on this thread) that first generation status doesn’t really matter to BU. Is this true? Or can it be compared to being, say, a legacy student or a URM?

I just got accepted to Northeastern U which is where I’d probably go if I had to decide between BU and NEU so, yeah - chances are I won’t be attending BU even if I was accepted which is good for someone wait listed.

Will a college rescind their acceptance if you get a D??

@preamble1776 Congratulations!!! ^-^

I’m an international student that’s probably gonna go here or Northeastern. Northeastern offered me 10k in merit aid which was really surprising, given the lack of money for international students. I’ll have to see what happens with BU ! :)

any BMES applying?

@collegeapp2018 2012’s acceptance rate for BU was in the 40s, not last year bud. Last year’s acceptance rate was already in the low/mid 30s, 35% or something I believe.
