@crabbie1234 what were your stats?

Can’t say I wasn’t surprised or ****ed. Not my first choice school, but makes me worried for my chances at my dream school (Berkeley)

@turnpikeghost

Don’t worry too much about Berkley…my friend had similar stats last year and was flat-out rejected from Biomed engineering, but got into UCLA and Berkley
Cal Poly is difficult to compare to other schools in terms of admissions.

I wouldn’t say not to worry about Berkeley or UCLA. The difference there is that they read the essays and care about the leadership and Extra curriculars, where Cal Poly does not. Your stats for Cal Poly were good, but perhaps there were a lot of other applicants for that major this year who were even better. It is almost purely numbers at CP. There is a lot more involved for UCB and UCLA. Best of Luck to you!

momofmv you are absolutely correct

turnpikeghost: what are your alternative schools? are you considering any other UC or CSU schools besides Cal Poly and Berkeley?

Hopefully and I am sure that things will work out for all of us no matter which way the admittance goes. We all have a great future ahead of us.

However-I will be bummed too. For sure.

@socalsr- thanks, good luck and hope you get good news soon. i agree with you that it will all work out fine. nerve racking process tho.

curiousaboutslo: My son had almost identical stats to yours last year, and was also waitlisted for aerospace engineering. His name never came up. Luckily it was not his first choice school. He was admitted to UCLA with those stats though (Did you apply there?) but he chose not to attend there. Good luck to you!
