2Leashes, I just realized I should’ve done that after I posted that. Um…wow. That’s all I will say. haha.

Pick at semantics, if you want to, but I just meant that geographic location is a factor in admissions.

Well it seems like 90% of students at my school in socal (tesoro) applied here, I’ve only heard of 1 person who got accepted so far.

i no at least 6 ppl that applied (west L.A.)
3 rejected 3 accepted
all the rejected were for business admin.
accepted were poli science, comp science, and mech. eng.

I’m from socal also and a lot of kids from my school applied there. Everyone has gotten in except for one kid that I know of.

Rejected.

…i dont even know what to do or say…

Rejected from Business Administration with a 3.4-3.5 Cal Poly GPA (I forget what it was, and I don’t really care enough to go back and figure it out), 1330/1870 SAT, and 16-20 hrs/week ECs.

Cal Poly wasn’t really a top choice for me, so I’m not too upset; I’m just hoping that it’s not a sign of things to come from the UCs.

Rejected from Biomedical Engineering…

wGPA: 3.8
SAT: 2050
Math SAT II: 750
Biology SATII: 680

Oh well, Cal poly is definitely not my top choice :)

Accepted several days ago into Mechanical Engineering.

SAT: 2290 (750CR, 770M, 770W)
SAT II: 800 Math2, 770 Physics
ACT: N/A
GPA: 4.0/4.0 UW (School doesn’t weight. I took several community college courses, but I forgot to add the 0.1-0.2 onto my reported GPA, so I just put 4.0 -_-)
Other: I provided a low income for the fee waiver, though I don’t know if that is important. I also originally applied into Electrical Engineering, but I had it changed to Mechanical in January.

To all of you who did not get in, remember that there are other colleges and that the college experience is more about you than the place you attend. I was devastated after getting rejected from Early Decision at Harvey Mudd a few months ago. While I am still a bit upset about it, it really isn’t the end of the world. If you feel as if your stats practically guaranteed you a spot at Cal Poly, remember that those stats ARE impressive and that you will end up at a great college.

Okay, something is seriously wrong here… I think they sent out the wrong rejections

Rejected for Bio Sciences. Around a 3.45 CSU gpa, so not surprising, but it is my first rejection.

To everyone who got rejected, I have a feeling things will all work out. We still have options open. Though this was one of my top schools, I’m trying to look at it as simply a life experience- everyone gets rejected from one college or another, this is just a part of life, and the world will continue to turn. I bet we’ll even end up happy no matter where we go :)

Moonlit, signing off.

Ckr4282: saw acceptances to OSU and U Oregon
As a Duck think that is the best school, ESP for computer. If you can go to Oregon definitely consider it!

I really don’t understand Cal Poly’s admissions system. Cal Poly is definitely my first choice choice school and I have worked ****ing hard for last 4 years to get in, only to be waitlisted under people with lower stats…

curiousaboutslo: You have a good attitude. Wherever you end up, you will do fine. In the end, you will end up at the best place for you. Let us know what you decide…

I’m very sorry to hear of all the rejections that seem to have gone out today. For those who didn’t get in and said you don’t understand the admissions process, remember they are only basing it off numbers. Some people got in with lower stats but they might have also applied for less competitive majors. It seems to me that the budget problems in California are having a huge impact on ALL CSU/UC schools. Let’s just hope we get through it and work to make it better for our own children.

Rejected for Business Admin

Transfer
CSU GPA: 3.93
CC GPA: 3.91

Has anyone been accepted or rejected as a CHEMISTRY Major? Dx

I’m so sorry for you all. My brother just found out that he was rejected for Business Admnst.

My daughter was rejected for Biological Sciences (Wed, Mar 2).
CSU GPA: 3.6
ACT 25
SAT 1660/2400
We knew it would be a bit of a reach but Cal Poly was #2 on her list. Deep disappointment.

CSULB – denied
SFSU – accepted
CalPolySLO – denied

SDSU, CalPolyPomona, UCSB, UCSC (#1 choice) – decisions yet to come

Oh, and we’re from northern CA for those counting…

S was accepted into electrical engineering:
UGPA 3.98/ WGPA 4.12
ACT 32
SAT Subject - 720 (math)
Class rank - 1/28
Very proud of him.

DS REJECTED for Mech. Engineering:
Unweighted GPA 3.85/ WGPA 4.04
SAT 1970
AP Calc. A/5
Class Rank- 18/570
African American Male

Accepted with Merit Scholarship to UC Riverside
Chancellor’s Invite: UC Santa Barbara

Sounds like admits were strangely skewed this year. I think OOS admits edged many qualified applicants out this year.

Congratulations to all who were accepted.
