OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO 2013-2014 Early Decision

@Aarontpz Thanks you have great stats as well. Hopefully Ill see you next year at SLO.

Happy December and best wishes to all the EDers. My D finished a couple more CSU apps. and also applied to UCLA and UC Davis two night ago. She applied to Chico and SDSU the same night she sent in her ED application for Cal Poly SLO and has received an acceptance to Chico, which was fun to get–but obviously we are awaiting word from her first choice like the rest of you! Good luck!

To answer the question concerning the UCs…

I was already admitted to UC Riverside as part of the local qualifying criteria. I was looking at UC Davis and UCSD, but just liked the overall package of Cal Poly better. I would rather go to Cal Poly than the UC schools because of the size/cost/teaching/practical education that it offers. I hope I hear good news soon!

Industrial Technology
GPA: 4.29
SAT: 1310
ACT:27
Can some one please chance me!
I’m really nervous

^ 1310 (cr+math)
1860 total

Its kinda late to chance as there is no point in doing it. We find out in around 10 days so hold on! :-)

So decisions start tomorrow? Is it in any type of order

True, do you know of anyone that has been accepted already?

@calpolyslodream except for reassurance. Good lord I’m glad I didn’t pull my ED. But the suspense is murdering me and I have a lot of stress as it is.
@Sportsfan50 some people reported (on this site) getting acceptances early either this year or last, but personally no…

Last year people started find out on the first Tuesday of December, which would have been today. Other years it has been later in the month. So it might be tomorrow, or it might on the 15th! In reading CC posts from other years, there wasn’t any discernible order to how the results were released.

Only a few more days guys!

Industrial Engineering
CSU GPA: 3.94
ACT: 32
SAT 1310

AP Calc (AB/BC), AP English, AP Lit, AP Psych, AP Physics, AP Bio

21+ Hours Work
21+ Hours Extra Curricular

One last question. Do they usually do the decisions in the evening?
Thanks so much

Sorry omario, I haven’t a clue although someone else might. The one thing I do recall is that if a student is not accepted to early decision but is instead deferred to regular decision, the wording on the portal will remain exactly as it is now except the words “for early decision” will be omitted.

I’m so nervous for this! I called admissions yesterday for a question, and they mentioned that they are just getting ready to start considerations, if that helps somehow. My nerves have been torn to pieces these last few days with my anxiety.
Anyway.
Computer Engineering Major
First time/Second time SATs (2nd time may not count because I got it in late)
CR:690/700
Math: 660/690
GPA: 4.2 (9-11), 4.46 (10-11)
Two PLTW classes. My courses are somewhat science-heavy since I was almost going to be a pre-med major, but I changed my mind junior year when I took Digital Electronics. Also, I don’t have a math class senior year, but this is because I maxed out math courses junior year with AP Calc.

Two more weeks to go. Honestly, I’m more anxious for this than I am for Christmas.

@feelssogood96
We have almost the same stats!!
Im and Ind Engineering major.
3.96
1380/1600 2000/2400
31
Took all APs

Good luck I hope we both get in!

My guess is that less populous majors like food science will be updated sooner because there are less in the pool. Whereas for engineering, where half of california applied, my guess is that it will be updated around the 15th. We pretty much all jave the same stats! I have 32 ACT, 4.22, biomedical engineering… Ahahah its like the flip of a coin. And may the odds be ever in your favor ;)

@feelsogood96
@jheath
goodness both of your stats are really good compared to mine…I didn’t realize there were so many applying for Ind. Engineering! I hope both of you get in!
And just out of curiosity, are you both girls? Sorry for such a strange question xI

@mochilime
I am a guy haha

Oh im so sorry!!! D: I do apologize for my mistake :frowning: I was wondering if you knew they are more lenient towards a certain gender?
i hope to see you next year! You and feelsogood96 are both such good candidates i am very worried :(

From what I have been reading on other forums from previous years people were finding out on either the first or second Friday of December, so that means we either find out this Friday the 6th, or next Friday the 13th
