<p>Course rigor: Middle of the pack by my reckoning. Suburban high school with diverse student body (all ethnicities and intelligences). An average amount of AP classes available. </p>

<p>@Michelle11 it’s 10 miles from Cal poly to Avila Beach and at least 15 to Pismo Beach. There is a great biking route to Avila. But it’s quite a distance. There will be plenty of students with cars though. </p>

<p>My sister graduated cal poly 2013. Still lives in SLO. SLO is a bike friendly place. The campus for the most part is flat, with very mild hills heading toward student union. With the exception of getting to poly canyon and up the hill to Cerro Vista. There’s also buses that run all day at the campus to town free for students. </p>

<p>Not related to decisions. I had a mistake I made on my application regarding the length of 2 classes I am taking in my senior year, and even though it was 60 days after the deadline you could officially change your application, admissions changed it for me yesterday. Even if I get denied for ED, I gotta hand it to admissions, for taking care of their applicants, even at the most inconvenient times. </p>
<p>@luckymomof3 My daughter took an online BYU Independent study course on creative writing and a jr college speech course during the Fall semester to get her the extra semesters of English. </p>
<p>I never even thought of having my daughter do something like that :(<br>

<p>@luckymomof3 I didn’t either until the AVID coordinator at the school district I teach at suggested it…otherwise my daughter would have been in the same boat with only 8 semesters instead of 11.</p>
