@mediocre25 have u looked at ur portal in the student center? (Cal poly log-in) in the portal under application it will say either congratulations you’ve been selected for early admissions OR it will say something like thank you for applying, your application has been received. No determination has been made at this time. (This means that u have been deferred to regular decision)

@calpoly13 I checked and I was deferred. Thank you. So for regular decision then, can I send in an updated SAT and ACT score?

@GabFred have you checked your portal? Under student center go to application and it will say Congratulations or it will say thank you for applying. No determination has been made at this time. Which means application went to regular decision. And they send an email for congratulations but not for deferred.

@mediocre25 yes u should be able to do that. Cal poly admissions office is really great, they will help u with everything. Sorry u were deferred, I know how hard that is. But u have a great chance with RD. Good luck!

have any idea on when we will hear for regular decision?

Regular decision notifications is around Feb 14 (Mid-Feb) and will continue to Early March. Then SLO will post the rejectiions. Good Luck to all.

Congratulations to your daughter! My daughter, Haley, was also accepted into Biomedical Engineering. Perhaps our daughters would like to talk to see if they might like to be roomates. Haley thinks the Cerro Vista dorm would be her first choice. Just a bit about Haley: tennis player, serious student, doesn’t party, looks forward to hikes and the beach at Cal Poly, shy until she gets to know someone, likes to work out, very responsible and thoughtful, and lives in Oregon. Let me know if you think we should connect the girls to talk.

Have Cal Poly posted their ED stats from this year yet?

Wtf

@ilovechloebell No, but if you call like I did last week they can tell you some stats for this year’s applicants but only for your major. For me, they told me that Architectural Engineering had 24 open spaces with an average GPA of 4.1 and SAT Math score of 700. You can call and try if you want to. They really don’t want you to know of any other major or overall stats I guess.

Okay thanks. Is that your major or was it just random? @greenteagirl1997

@ilovechloebell No, that was my major. But first she asked me for my name and she looked me up and then told me the stats. You had to have applied ED I guess to ask for your majors stats.

Thanks! @greenteagirl1997

Only 24 open spaces? How many usually apply to arce @greenteagirl1997

@ArsenalFan69 I don’t know that’s all they told me and they didn’t even seem like they wanted to tell me that

How likely is it to go to SLO and then change majors? For example change into business. Because I’m not sure what I want to do.

@ilovecholebell: It will depend upon which major you are accepted and into which major you want to transfer. If you do not meet the orginial qualifications for the new major when you first applied, it will be diffcult but not impossible to change so if your original HS stats were not competitive enough to get into the School of Business, you may have to really prove yourself at SLO. Here is a link to help with your questions. My niece recently was accepted into one of the easier less competitive majors and has expressed interest in switching. I had already cautioned her that trying to use the “back door” approach to just get into SLO may be a problem. Hopefully, if or when she decides to change her major, she will be able. Good Luck.
