**OFFICIAL CAL POLY SLO 2014-2015 Early Decision**

Does anyone know if honors, AP and IB are all weighted the same in their system? Ive taken 7 honors, 1 AP and 15 IBs so just curious! So nervous for decision!

Yeah, and do community college courses count as an honors class per semester? so one year of community college = 2 honors? … Because when calculating your GPA, you count the community courses twice.

@fergie96‌ I would think so, but you’re only allowed 8 semesters anyway

Does anyone know someone that knows what “around the 15th” means. I’ve been counting down the days until December 1st, but now that its getting close I realized that it will probably be another two weeks at least :(. When did your friends and family hear back?

@Calpolyplease Well, last year a majority of the ED students heard on December 5th which was the first Thursday of the month, and in 2012 ED also heard on December 5th which was the first Wednesday of the month, but in 2011 ED heard on the 8th which was the second Thursday of the month. As you can see, it seems like Poly has typically sent out acceptances in the first week and particularly around the 5th you should expect to hear from them, but keep your eyes peeled the whole first week! But you should definitely hear by the 15th.

Thanks @greenteagirl1997‌. I cannot wait.

Also just curious has anyone else thought about housing yet despite not yet getting in? My friend and I have been planning every possible thing we can.

@Calpolyplease‌ Hahaha same here! Been planning everything lol

Hahaha yessss
I’m definitely going to pick the new brick buildings(they have air conditioning I believe). Plus I will get to meet people in my classes! my second choice will probably living learning community about the school pride or the adventure one

I really like Sierra Madre themed dorms. I love the Venture connection.

There is no air conditioning in any of the dorms.

Well shoot…

The wait is killing me
Around 10 more days until we start hearing from them :openmouth:

I’m so nervous!! Hopefully we can hear sooner than the 5th…

Just curious, what attracted you guys to Poly enough to apply as early decision?

Hi everyone! I am currently a first year at Cal Poly this year and I just wanted to wish you all good luck. I was in the same position as you guys last year and was constantly checking this site and counting down the days until I was admitted. Going to Poly was by far the best decision I have made and I hope you all get to come to this incredible school as well! (:

What do you guys think about North Mountain? I like them because they are a lot bigger, I’m just hoping its not too weird going to other dorms to meet more friends I want to party with

How are my chances looking? I’m applying ED with a Computer Engineering major.

GPA: 4.1 weighted, 3.7 unweighted
SAT: 1240 (620,620) - weak, I know
ACT: 30

Senior: AP English Lit & Comp, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 1, AP Spanish, AP Statistics

Work experience: 20 hours/week not related to major

In state, white male

@roxy401‌ Yesss sierra madre ftw!

@MLM‌ And really? I was watching a student dorm tour video on YouTube and the student from the red bricks said they’re the only door with AC

@will187 - There is NO A/C in the dorms at SLO. I reconfirmed this with my son & his girlfriend a few minutes ago. There was also a big discussion on the SLO parent board around 6 weeks ago regarding A/C. One of the parents was furious that his daughter’s buildings A/C hadn’t been working all semester and it was intolerable and he wanted to know who to contact to get it fixed. Then he discovered the building had no A/C (and neither did any of the other dorms)!

Perhaps the person who made the video thought the heating thermostat also controlled A/C.

Very slim chance of me getting in, I doubt I’m even over the eligibility index:

Major: Computer Science
