Do you know how competitive it is to transfer into Nutrition?
Can you tell me my chances?
major: nutrition
GPA: 3.68
for required courses, when I applied I had finished 2/6 required (they’re all done now)
for desired, I had 2/6, but they are all now done or planned.
I was a little behind because I did my first semester undeclared, but I actually go to Cal Poly now as a National Exchange Student. Should this help my chances at all? I know my chances are hurt because of taking most of the classes preferred or required this year.
You guys, I’m a big fat nose and didn’t get in yet. Still pending. Come on ladies lets get it over with it. #notcoon
2/6? I really can’t say for sure. It would be a different story if you were a business major. Sorry, I am worthless.
Still waiting for an admission decision, as all of us are. Feel free to chance me in the mean time!
Major: History
GPA: 4.0
Parents: both high school graduates (no college)
IGETC: Finishing this current semester, had everything done except speech (so Speech was planned on application). Also I was in Stats while applying so that was listed as “in progress”
Transferring with an AA-T
@joogman23 What influence does your parents’ education level have on admission, and in what way?
@ccosmic I believe that colleges like to see that you are a first generational college student (first of the family to go to college), but I’m not sure how that plays into admissions and things. Interested to hear @joogman23 response
@ccosmica @tessanicole Tessa is right. It plays as a statistic when the student profile comes out for the applying classes. Doesn’t make a huge difference in selection from what I understand.
Does slo ask for updated transcripts before admission or after? Thanks
If you get admitted they’ll ask for transcripts. If not selected, they will not ask whatsoever.
@joogman23 can you chance me please?
Transferring from De Anza College in Cupertino with a 3.75 at the time of applying.
My major is business admin.
I had two IGETC classes left at the time of applying. (English 2 and Bio Lab)
Thanks!
Nice.
looks like freshmen, in-state poli sci applicants are starting to get accepted! here’s to a transfer admit decision for poli sci (or heck, ANY TRANSFER) for any of us!
@gblm93 you applied for poli sci?
@joogman23, indeed. 3.24 GPA, instate, with the CSU GE done with the exception of Stats (currently enrolled), ALL of Poly’s desired and required done and passed that my CCC articulates with. Not expecting to get in, but, I’ve seen it happen for others with mediocre GPAs- CPSLO is just a shot in the dark.
@joogman23 So, having classes put down as “in progress/planned” counts against us?
Guys. I don’t think I can wait anymore. I think I need to be put into a medically induced coma until decisions are made and posted.
the wait is awful! were transfers supposed to hear first? It seems so different this year
It does seem a lot different. It’s frustrating how they roll out admissions. I don’t see the point.
this whole process has been delayed a week. We should’ve heard back already. They’ll post by the end of this week though; that is my hunch.
@polypls they don’t necessarily hurt you, but they do benefit you if you have completed everything before applying.
