****official cal poly slo class of 2018 decisions****

Has anyone instate been accepted for MechE yet?

4.42 GPA and 33 ACT still waiting, I hope they come out soon.

Admissions office says that they close tonight at 5:00 PM. Does this mean that no more decisions are going to be sent out until Monday when they reopen?

@czs1994 I’m a math major too and I had no idea the amount of math majors in the school was so small. Now I’m definitely scared. I have a 29 on the act and 1360 (670 math 690 reading) on the sat. My csu GPA is a 4.0 and I have 4 AP’s do you think I have a chance?

Arts occured earlier this week. keep in mind its the first wave, there will be a few others within the next 2 weeks or so.

@aznskydragon, what was your friends stats?

D made it into MechE!

@joyous1 Congrats! We’re still waiting! But very happy for your news!!

@coastercrutch
yeah I got that too (I’m majoring in earth science). I feel like my stats were above average for the major, but I wasn’t expecting any scholarships since OOS kids don’t get too many of them, especially for any public California schools (so I’ve heard).
ACT: 30 GPA: 4.12

Ok, since the admissions office won’t give us much over the weekend, I have calculated a predicted admission total by grossing up the target number of students by last year’s acceptance percentage. I predict a record admit number of 16,000+ and predict 36.6% of applicants will be admitted, which means it will be easier than the last 2 years to get in. I predict the attending GPA and SAT might fall a bit.

I got the base data here:
<a href=“California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo - Wikipedia”>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Polytechnic_State_University

The server will not let me add spacing, so sorry for the data pile.

Do rejections come later?? I’m in liberal arts and getting pretty nervous…

@53polo, at most places, rejections and waitlist invites aren’t sent out until they’re sure they won’t let more people in.

@53polo, yes they do, as that is what I was told when I called admissions earlier this week. I was also told that the acceptance’s will go out for two to three weeks. That all began last Friday the 14th. So hang in there:).

Are they going to release admissions over the weekend?

@czs1994 : yeah i’m pretty anxious to know my fate haha.
My stats are: ACT: 30 (unsuperscored), 31(superscored): 28 math, 32 science (yeah i know my math is on the low end for a math major haha, but im a very bad and nervous test taker)
Unweighted GPA: 3.32 CSU weighted: 3.62. (had a very bad sophomore year, and practically straight A’s junior year) Taken 8 APs total (1 sophomore year, 4 jr year, 3 senior year) (my school only offers AP classes) and 3 community college courses. The 3 community college courses i took are all math courses (Calc 2, Calc3/Multivariable Calc, and Differential Equations)- if that matters at all.
Tons of community service and extracurricular and I have a job that pertains to my major.
So if you can chance me that would be great, and I hope i’m pretty competitive for the major as well

@justin7473, I doubt they will release them over the weekend, I don’t remember seeing any offers this past weekend. People may have posted their acceptances but it might be because they didn’t check their portals on Friday but then posted info on Sat or Sun.
It’s been a long week of waiting but I have a good feeling about next week:)

pray to god i hear next week!

@gotoslo, yeah, a person in my major got in with significantly slower stats, but was out of state, so i guess i cannot be compared to them… I have a good feeling about next too! Hopefully our feelings are correct!

@Bindra1996 your stats look above average. In 2012 there were 47 freshmen admitted slightly under 10% of the 501 applications. You look fairly good, but if you took more than the 3 units required for admission in math and 2 units required in science it would be a help, you get some extra points for taking more than the minimum with bigger points for science and math. For the COSAM in 2013 the average GPA was 3.92, ACT composite was 27.1 would expect Math to be a bit higher, and SATs are 594 reading and 635 math again would expect math to be higher. No idea how strong the applicants are for this year, but you look pretty good to me.

Accepted Wednesday to Graphic Communications!
4.2 GPA
1740 SAT
4 AP classes 10-12

Good job @Trakarclay however last year only 77% of new attendees were freshmen, you have 100% so your numbers are probably a little ambitious, last year in spite of the huge increase in the freshman class size the stats pretty much stayed the same. This class will probably be slightly smaller, Last year there were about 6200 additional students.
