Hi Everyone! Has anyone heard back from SLO if they applied as a Psych major?

@tschaser, i thought that there wasn’t a bump for minorities anymore because of the laws… Also,i have lots of ecs. I wonder why they got in in the first wave of i didn’t, i have low income and my parents didn’t go to college. This is really frustrating! I thought that they did an algorithm, which means that i should have found out by now too because my mca should be higher than his due to my scores! Arghhhhh!

@justin7473 are you the one who didn’t send in their test scores? Did your parents graduate High School? You only get credit for a parent who did not graduate high school or for attending a low performing high school.

Does anybody here have any idea when they’ll release admission results for international students?

Would regent package receivers mind posting some stats?

Cal Poly doesn’t offer Regent’s awards/

ANYONE FOR COMMUNICATIONS OR BUSINESS?

@eyemgh: Thanks for the detailed info. Yes, it makes ‘sense’. The pitty points, over which a student has no control, are a deal breaker for many higher stats kids. As you said, it is a 'Holistically objective". That said, last year and this years results (I’m familiar with ME and with kids both in S very competitive HS and kids in similar schools) seem to indicate an even greater push for the holistic portion…

No acceptances today? ):

@lilmelmel none that have been posted. Hang in there!

Does anyone know if I could work in rodeo skills into my App? I know it’s late but maybe it would help… I’ve talked to the coach but very briefly… I have great times and records… Probably irrelevant but maybe?

If you get denied, then you can appeal and put that info in. That’s what I am doing if i get denied, because i have a job now and didn’t when i applied, and that should give me another 100 or so points

I’ve already written my appeal just incase… hopefully i don’t have to use it…

Has anyone heard that applied as a Psych major whether they have been admitted or denied?

@53polo, Poly does not leave spots for students who plan to appeal unless that appeal has NEW information. They specifically say that they will not review errors or omissions on applications. In any case, they don’t review specific ECs, just hours committed to those activities. Good luck.

@eyemgh yes I am aware of this

Whoa easy guys we’re all friends here

Son is waitlisted for Political Science. No email survey yet.

@justin7473 I am pulling for you to get accepted - any day now. Have any new acceptances gone out this week - it looked like several majors hadn’t finished with the process, maybe Civil Engineering was one of them.

Oops, sorry for the double post above. Not sure how to delete one…
