What is biochemistrys admission rate??
And have all science majors’ decisions been released?
@keepswimmin21 Biochemistry: 12.6% admit rate target
Can you tell me what Civil Engineering’s is? @r77r77
Applied to Software Engineering
Weighted 4.0 gpa, max hours/work experience (I’ve started two businesses)
31 ACT
Still waiting on a decision…
@bball236 Estimated 35.5% for civil. (1292 applications for 153 spots @ estimated 33% yield rate).
I might just make a new thread with the rates for all majors.
@r77r77 how can wine & vit be 89%… thats crazy high. but i guess not many kids come out of high school assuming theyre going to be a wine maker unless its in their blood I guess. thank you for that. I REALLY hope thats true. Still nothing on my portal though, but a little more hopeful given that its true.
Was accepted in-state biological sciences on Thursday and just got a confirmation email at 3
@joogman23 do you know if any other Biology acceptances will be released?
Is there any instate CAED at all
@hvnhvn From what I understand, there are no such things as waves. That could be very different though for Freshman. Someone posted that if people weren’t notified yet and decisions have been posted, that means that they did not select you. That is 100% true, I can’t speak for Freshman though; it might just be the same thing.
Accepted to English!!
3.48 CSU GPA, 32 ACT, 11 AP and Honors courses over four years, tons of extracurricular activities and several leadership positions, 8-10 hours of work per week, in-state applicant residing outside CP’s service area, first-generation college student
@leandraduke I was surprised at that too. There were 202 applicants for 60 spots. The percentages I calculated were made off of one (big) assumption that the yield rate is 33% for all majors. Meaning that of 3 people who get accepted to Cal Poly, only 1 will actually attend. Thus, the school admits 3x more people than the spots they have.
The flaw in the assumption is that different majors and years have different yield rates. If you look at last years wine and viticulture stats, they predicted 58 people to accept the offer, when 67 actually accepted. That means the yield rate is greater than 33% school average, and therefore Cal Poly should accept a lower % of people. If you adjust it according to that, the admit rate is closer to 70%.
I called admissions and they told me that all the acceptances haven’t been released yet. If people from your major have heard back and your portal still says no determination it’s not necessarily a rejection. Don’t give up hope!
Still no political science? Does anyone know what the acceptance rate for that is?
In State CS, still haven’t heard. Starting to lose hope now.
Accepted for Business Administration.
In-state from outside Cal Poly’s service area.
GPA: 3.9 / 4.3
SAT: 760 R / 660 M / 760 W
8 APs total.
- 3 on-going as of 11/30/14 (AP Govt. / AP Macroeconomics / AP Chemistry)
- 5 taken (AP Psych / AP Calc AB / WHAP / APUSH / AP Lang). Exam scores not reported because I didn’t see a section for that, but I got 5’s on all of them. I was probably just overlooking something / blind.
Some extracurriculars / community service. Nothing to brag about.
@srvrdhn pretty sure they are done releasing CS… i’m in your position and I would say move on to your next choice of school. Your only bet is to call admissions and ask if CS is all out,
what did they say? I could not find the post from @ucadmissions3432. @ayyemichelle
Anybody know if any Chemistry majors have been released??
