Has anyone recieved an official candidate packet? The website says they can be "recieved as early as July prior to your senior year." I heard that applying to summer seminar counted as the preliminary application. If I am wrong please correct me....or if anyone has any more insight? Thanks!

USNA fine-tunes the application procedure every year. Last year my daughter's official candidate packet arrived while she was attending the second session of Summer Seminar, which if I remember correctly, was during the third week of June. However, since the application forms are online this year, the mailings may be different. A valuable resource for anyone considering the USNA is the online catalog at USNA.edu.

i went to summer seminar and i haven't received the packet...but i have already started the application process..online...i am planning to call my BGO or the LT in charge of my area to see what's going on...

My son got a 1 page letter in June saying he was an official candidate. It gave him password info for the Candidate information system. He filled out everything online and is now waiting to DOD physical scheduling. His BGO said that he would do the interview in late Sept.

Even though the catalog is available online, I would assume that it will eventually be sent to official candidates. Remember, some people don't have internet access. And, let's not forget that AWESOME CD that accompanied the catalog last year for the first time! Okay, 2009 parents, have any of you played that CD lately because you're missing your plebe?
