[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: Put a lot of effort into them. I think they turned out really good, but I can't judge since I don't have anything to compare them with.
[] Teacher Recs: Wonderfully wonderful. Got one for a teacher who I've had since 10th grade. She loves me.
[] Counselor Rec: I dont know. I dont think he knows me at all, but I'm guessing he gave me some good credit.
[] Hook (if any): My application was spanish themed. Focuses on President of Spanish Honor Society, recommendation from Spanish Teacher, TAing for Spanish 4 class, one essay on timely issue involving immigration. I had a lot of other stuff, but if anything really got me in it was the Spanish motiff.

[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]

[/ul]Other Factors: Was careful of what i posted online
General Comments: I was careful when putting things up about myself on the internet. I know many never really give it a second thought, but some colleges, (possibly even UVA) sometimes conduct internet searches on applicants and look at their facebooks and myspaces. They are interested in knowing your true personality, and sometimes people post some pretty idiotic things on the internet. Although I personally have no proof of this on a first hand account I can say that a girl at my school had her application rejected because of the obscene things she had posted on her myspace. The university actually went out of their way to send a letter to the school and the honor societies she was in. So, in conclusion, don't forget that whatever you post on the internet will most likely remain on the internet. Be wise. You may even be able to use it to your advantage ;)

panicker, that's kind of an irrational fear. I agree that people shouldn't put revealing information in the public domain, and I realize that admissions people have, in the past, "outted" applicants from online postings, the probability of that happening is very, very small. UVA alone got over 15,000 applications this year, and reviewing the apps alone kept them busy enough.

I'm happy...I got into Northwestern and USC...no UVA yet.

uhhh i didnt mean to post this but now i have to

what do you mean? no one held a gun to your head.

waitin for uva, does that to u.

good luck!

waitlisted.. decisions are online

i got waitlisted too. woo hoo....................... :-</p>

waitlisted

deferred then waitlisted. not in the mood for stats.

rejected, oh well, off to spider land.

i got in!!!!

now, i have uva, william and mary, michigan.

i was waitlisted at cornell.

I got in!!!

rejecteddd

rejected. oh well.

anyone know whats up with the waitlist.. is it random and what are the chances of getting in. i'm hardly upset bc i got into cornell, bowdoin, colgate, hamilton, bucknell, and bc honors program.. not too shabby :)

The number of people accepted off the waitlist depends on this year's yield and if admissions had a built in segment of the class to admit from the waitlist.

accepted (i got a likely letter earlier)
