Official Class of 2014 Early Decision Results Thread

I refuse to acknowledge my own stats/essays/whatever. I’m making myself have a temporary out-of-body experience, and I’m going far, far away from myself.

hahha I wish I could do that. Everyone has been telling me stories of people they know who have applied to Brown E.D. in the past and nearly all of them have been stories of deferrals.
ughhh

DEFINITELY doubting my app right about…now.

My emotions are confused right now :(

=( so close… yet so far away … good luck to everyone again!!!

I did PLME ED, (non-binding for regular Brown)

Nobody in my school has been admitted since 1998. That stat doesn’t exactly make me feel any better about my app…

Ugh. =[

I’ve had three people get into Brown in the last two years and I’m the only one applying ED this year. Does that put me at any advantage?

In my school, someone once got into Brown like ten years ago, but not since then. I don’t even know if anyone’s applied in the past few years. -_-
Omg i keep looking back at the essays I wrote for Brown, and keep overanalyzing everything. I just want to veg out in front of the tv, or with a book for the next 24-25ish hours so I can stop thinking about it, but sadly i can’t!!!

one person from my school got into brown last year, but that’s not saying much for me because he also got into every single ivy except for harvard. jeez.

a couple people have gotten into Brown from my school, but none ED. I think one a couple of years ago who applied ED had legacy and got in. Is Brown still big on legacy?

i did ed to plme to but not binding for brown too…anyone from nj because for the eds at least…i was looking on last years thread and everyone got deferred from nj for both plme and ed.

Yeah, our class of 2009 had a kid that got into Brown, but decided on Harvard instead…

Bast**rd. Brown > Harvard ANY day!

So beyond true. Brown pretty much trumps every school out there.

No one from my school has ever gone to Brown…
But… then again, we’ve only had one student go to an Ivy (Dartmouth) since like 1985… and she attended six years ago. Haha, my school is kind of pathetic.

@hewittdy, I totally feel you. We’ve had basically one person go to an Ivy (Yale) five years ago… Before that, no idea. People really don’t leave the midwest very much from my school. Though actually a girl went to MIT last year, which was a very very big deal!

Last year my school had impressive stats. Some went to Yale, Cornell, Georgetown, Johns Hopkins, Emory, Tufts, and of course BROWN. That doesn’t even include the ones they were accepted to but didn’t attend. And I go to an urban public school by the way. Does my class feel the pressure? Hell yes. :p

Our only Ivy-acceptance has been Cornell, a few years ago. Then again, we’ve only ever had like, three people apply to Ivies.

On average my school has 3 kids accepted by Brown per year but generally only 0 or 1 of the 3 go to Brown since the 3 kids who are accepted usually get into Yale/Princeton/Stanford/etc.

no one in my school has every gotten into brown, and the only people that went to ivies last year were an athlete (yale) someone went to cornell coe. he has a sibling at cornell. i think that helps
