General Comments: REALLY happy I got in! I could totally see myself going, but I am gonna wait and see where else I get in. I was shocked how early I found out (I applied on Jan 24). I was afraid that I would be forced to go to one particular school, but now i can weigh out different options. I do actually really like UMich!

@avtrox That’s rough. Stats like those should put have easily gotten you into UMich. If you are OOS, don’t feel disheartened. There was extremely stiff competition amongst the OOS applicants partly due to the high volume of instate acceptances. Also, do you know when you applied? Since it is rolling, that could have had something to do with your decision. I applied late (Mid to late Jan) and was shocked at such a quick decision but I could have gotten lucky and you could have been unlucky.

@EmmaOakley Yes, UMich was a safety for me :slight_smile: I think it’s too expensive to be a viable option for me, however. I would rather spend that money at UNC or a solid private like Rice or Vandy.

@Shaq395 yeah i was really expecting an acceptance. i feel like shyt right now, this is my second application decision after a stanford EA rejection and i don’t know if i’m getting in anywhere. being international sucks balls.

@tj1994 I applied late january. should’ve sent stuff out earlier i guess…

i am so disappointed, my dad loved Umich and he was all “even if you get rejected from [my top choice] at least you’d get to live in Ann Arbor again” what am i going to tell him…

Don’t really feel like posting a full profile…
Accepted OOS to LSA from WA. 3.86 UW GPA (4.35 W) 2260 SAT. Asian, 12 AP’s, class rank at 15%, good EC’s. Waiting for Ross pre-admit now.

Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected:
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: none yet
General Comments:

Avtrox didn’t mention GPA or class rank – two factors that have more weight than standardized scores.

Also, it’s uber-competitive for international students as they form a very small percentage of admitted students so the odds are much less favorable than for OOS and In-State.

Nonetheless, best wishes.

Decision: Accepted LSA

SAT I - CR 730, W 750, M 660 => total: 2140, no SAT II,
IB full deploma (34-36) :slight_smile: I am an Asian living in Europe, going to an international school here.

GPA 7.24 in a 1-7 IB scale with weighted scores of +1 for Higher Level courses and +0.5 for Standard. My GC says i’m top 3%. IB prediction (including extended essay and theory of knowledge points) 43 out of 45.

did have a few not-so-great scores from 9th grade but… idk

@neoconty nice to see a fellow IB-er

@avtrox haha yeahh I kind of screwed up in the IB and my sql teachers are harsh graders lol… I think its harder than AP… but idk if it counted for anything in the application since my IB scores are relatively low… wht subj are u taking?
