Really bummed about this
Nothing. I think we’ve been bamboozled
Probably Thursday!
Is it confirmed that EA is exactly a week after ED or is that speculation?
Do you think its straight up the 15th???
Nothing for me either, going to say its most likely not tonight
Not cool NEU… Not cool.
Disappointing, but not surprising I guess… Oh well, guess I better get working on some of my RD applications.
I wonder if they got a lot more Early applicants this year and if that’s what’s pushing it?
i think it will be thursday
That seems like a reasonable explanation to me. They asked me to send in federal tax forms for financial aid something like…this past Friday? It’s possible that they’re just behind.
Oh shoot!
Oh well.
see you guys on thursday
im no expert but im pretty sure they said ED by the 15th and EA by the 31st (the latter doesn’t make much sense to me but my bet is the 15th)
NEU says the 15th and 31st. We should believe them until they announce otherwise. Anything else is a waste of time and energy.
NEU said BY the 15th and 31st
True, but the way I see it is that if you get an assignment on Monday that’s due BY Friday, you probably won’t hand in the assignment before then. I assume admissions is the same way. It’s probable that it may release before then but I’m not counting on it.
most colleges release decisions early
@mspaint The analogy I’ve heard guidance counselors/admissions officers use is that it’s like a library due date. If you check out a book at the library, if someone working there asks, “When are you going to return that book?” the best answer that you can give is “By the due date.”
IMO, it’s much safer for a college to release decisions early so that they don’t have people clawing down their doors in the event of a technical issue or some kind of internal setback. For the same reason why it’s smarter to return a library book earlier than the due date. Technically, we can’t be angry at NEU right now because like someone has already said, NEU says their decisions will be released by the 15th and the 31st.
