Official Class of 2021 Northeastern University Early Decision/Early Action Discussion

The applicant status page hasn’t worked well for days. Am I the only one that is having this same problem?

I applied EA with a 3.6 unweighted (4.0 weighted) GPA, 34 ACT, and extensive extracurriculars, from those of you who got accepted ED, does that seem comparable?

I’ve started a spreadsheet with the results from ed and that seems pretty comfortable, I haven’t seen anyone denied with that high act

@blountwil2 are you seeing many deferrals? And is there still that Northeastern love for high ACT/SAT (one hopes)?

I was super inspired by blountwil2, so for those curious…

The four people accepted had the following stats :

An average ACT of 31.5.
Only one person submitted their SAT, it was a 1210.
Only one person submitted WGPA, it was a 4.56.
An average UWGPA of 3.6.
Two people submitted class rank - top 10% and top 15%.
An average of 4.75 AP classes.

That being said the sample size was so small that none of this means anything :frowning:

hey what do you think about my stats: 2310 sat, 3.7/4.0 unweighted, 5.2/5.0 weighted, rank 102/639? i got deferred from baylor, so i’m kinda really hoping to get in here lol (EA)

How about 3.9 UW and 4.3W but lower act (31)?

^for EA and no fin. aid

Here is a link to my spreadsheet in progress https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BN4O8VHwQAyC28b3P_53wWNdtDpRdgs1eZI0E1D1LhQ/edit?usp=sharing

It’s not very scientific but it’s interesting at least

Two other people submitted their SAT, and I am an outlier (sort of). The median SAT i’s 1390 so far. My AP total is not 15, but rather 4 (just the one test so far).

Remember that Northeastern looks at your application holistically and do not give up hope!

I’ve just been converting SAT scores to ACT for simplicities sake

If anyone wants to give more stats or let me know if something is wrong please be my guest

@blountwil2 @JHUbal27 would you guys think the EA stats will be higher, given how many EA applicants are also ED at Ivies etc?

I think the EA stats will be higher for that exact
Reason @binky17

That’s what I was afraid of, @LkL5789 thanks.

I’m just hoping they admit people to NUin directly from NUin and don’t defer first

This is a banner on the NU In website;

Last year they added Germany and a second location in Australia. A few yeas ago they discontinued Costa Rica. Also the majors that qualified at some locations changed. So if NU In is not offered for EA this could be a reason.

@TomSrOfBoston True but they already offered ED applicants NUin so I would think that it shouldn’t be an issue

@blountwil2 What is the URL in your link? CC blocks the URL so your link does not work.

The problem with the ED results this year is that there are not enough of them to see a pattern. If the ED students reading this thread don’t want to post for personal reasons, it would be great if they could private message someone on the thread and they could post the info anonymously for them. Especially if you have info on the honors program.
