How do you know if you got into the NU in program vs the fall semester class at NU itself? I got my acceptance letter with no mention of the program just “Congratulations and welcome to Northeastern University! I am pleased to offer you admission to the 120th entering class with a major in … in the college of …”

My decision is very clearly “NU.In ADMIT,” you would know if it were.

Does admissions know right now (as they are deciding EA) if a NMSF chose NEU as first choice college? Or do they find out in January?
you choose NMSF after you are accepted and if you do it by the required date your merit aid is adjusted at that time (based upon last year’s threads.)

If it says Fall 2017 admit, you’re in. Spring 2018 (NU in) or Fall 2018 (sophomore transfer).
If we receive any merit aid, would it added onto our need based aid or simply included in the need based aid? For example, if we got 30k in need based aid and 15k in merit would the total aid be 45k or just 30k total?
@Bjklw2a I’m not completely sure what you’re asking but merit aid and need-based grants are separately listed on the financial aid document. However they’re both categorized as “gift aid”.
From my discussion with the financial aid office on a visit to northeastern, they said merit aid and need aid are handled by 2 separate offices so they will be stacked. I just wished the National merit scholarship was clearer because from my understanding they will adjust it based on how much need aid you recieve
