Good luck to everyone! Hope we all dedicated ones get in!
Hey guys,
Anyone who got their decision, what did you application status check look like? Did you get an email notification first?
@SophieLoffie I’m not sure what I got first, they seemed to be around the same time. I received an email saying that my decision was ready at like 8:08 and I had seen my decision by 8:11. I didn’t even check my email though, the only reason I knew to check the portal was because of people on here.
When I logged into my application portal, there was a graphic that said something like “The wait is over…” and when I clicked the arrow to move on it said that I was accepted.
@Bozusaki that “wait is over” message is going to make me so anxious…
Im soooo scared. They deferred so many people with sooo many good stats last year.
@Bozusaki (or anyone else who may know) when you sent in your forms they requested separately (1040 and W2), did you receive some kind of verification that they got them? I faxed them 2 weeks ago and I have no idea if it went through successfully. I called them 3 times and they said they will check and follow up with me, but they never did. I really want to make sure i have my financial aid package should I receive an acceptance this week.
@DannyPanny I didn’t receive any kind of response, but they were received. Have you tried emailing your financial aid counselor?
Do you guys think there is any chance that EA decisions will come out tomorrow?
Anything is possible, but in the past, there’s always been a full week between ED and EA decisions. So I don’t recommend any breath-holding before Thursday.
Does Northeastern recalculate GPA on their own scale?
@hornboy going by post 7 on the link below, I would say yes, but I wouldn’t know what formula. Google isn’t much help on this formula either, but NU converts it so that it’s at least out of 4.5, possibly out of 5.

@Bozusaki No, I never received contact info for a financial aid counselour. Unless you mean talk to my high school counselor? I did call their office and they said they would follow up on it.
@DannyPanny Your financial aid counselor is based on last name. Check here: https://financialaid.northeastern.edu/contact-us/counselor-lookup/
For instance, my counselor is Lee Marrama because my last name starts with ‘F’.
Northeastern recalculates GPA on a 4.0 scale with .5 extra for Honors classes and 1 point extra for AP, IB, Dual Enrollment, etc.
@PengsPhils are you sure? I thought they said in the information session they recalculate on a 5 point scale.
@Bozusaki No, how do you know who your financial aid counselor is? Or do you mean at my high school? I called their office and they said they would get back to me.
