Regardless of the decision, keep in mind that EA apps are way up overall and there are likely to be more deferrals this year than last in general, not related specifically to NEU.

@marijke Given how many people NEU defers EA, I would absolutely not interpret it that way. If you get a rejection, then it may be an indicator, but many people get deferred and then accepted. While it makes sense, one of the most frustrating things about NEU admissions is that a deferral truly means just more waiting with similar chances.

Does the decision come out through email or the status check?
you have to check your email first and they tell you to check your status because your “application status has been updated”
You kids need to be more positive! You all have great credentials and will end up somewhere that you’ll enjoy and at which you’ll thrive. Whether it’s NEU or someplace else. My wife and I went to a tiny little college in Western NY with very little cachet and we ended up working our dream jobs (sportswriter, attorney) and loving our lives. It’s something I remind my son daily as he frets about which schools will accept him, including NEU. Deep breath. It’ll be OK. 
Is there a time that they will be releasing them that we know of? I live in Massachusetts so theoretically I should be towards the front end of the decisions being released right?

Anyone know when they’ll be rolling out for people in Massachusetts? I’m assuming it starts with Massachusetts and then goes south and west. If Massachusetts is the first, then I’m guessing it’ll be sometime around 3-4 right?

You often can get your decision on the portal before an email. They are released on the hour, so for you anxious ones, checking once an hour guarantees you get it as soon as possible.
All of this assuming today is the day, which it could not be. If no one hears by just after 4PM, it is likely not the day if they hold to the previous release method.
Just check your app status to make sure the email system isn’t just being slow

Your app status may have changed, but the system might not have emailed you yet bc of congestion, etc.
