Official Class of 2021 Northeastern University Early Decision/Early Action Discussion

@TigerDude21 That logic seems sound, but I checked the ED/EA results thread from 2014 and ED decisions were released on the 9th.

Oh so maybe it just varies by year

the connection between all these dates is that they are always on a Tuesday.

Has anyone tried to log in recently (in the past 2-3 hours)? When she got home from school, she had trouble getting in, and now my daughter’s status page is BACK to what it was last week. Earlier today, it looked updated. No new information, but all of the information that NU had received was no longer posted and it was an almost blank page. I hope this means they are updating the decisions and that she will hear later today!!

My app status page still has a checklist and a paragraph and I applied ED, not really sure why or what that means

My status page has never changed from the checklist and paragraph. ED, sent in my app on the 31st of October.

Hate to say it, but the pattern could also be that ED comes out the second Tuesday of December, and EA on the third Tuesday. It seems that previous ED release dates have been after 12/7. I hope I’m wrong, as my daughter applied EA and we would love to know next week, but…

According to the CSS profile, EA/ED financial aid decisions will come out by 12/15. You can work back from that date to try and estimate the timing.

@aquapt I’m also not feeling 100% about this predicted date, but it’s also worth considering that winter break starts for NEU on the 18th. I don’t think they’re really known for releasing decisions during that break, but I could be wrong.

We will find out in two and a half hours.

i do believe that today is the correct date because if they release ED next tuesday, the 13th, then EA would most likely be the following week. and isnt EA before the 15th?

i know it says EA is after online but statistically speaking

I applied EA, but I think Im going to be deferred. Will decisions be up exactly on Dec. 31, or will they likely come out earlier?

Repost:

If Northeastern follows the same pattern as last year, ED decisions will be coming out on Tuesday 12/6. In the past the ED decisions were released starting at 7 PM Eastern time and all were released within an hour.

If ED decisions come out on 12/6, then EA decisions will likely come out on the following Tuesday 12/13. EA decisions are released sometime after 3 PM or 4 PM Eastern and it will take 6 hours before all are released. EA decisions start in Massachusetts and move out south then west.

You will receive an email that links to the admissions website. The email will not have the decision.

The decision page will have tabs that indicate merit aid awarded and/or need based aid if you have submitted the paperwork on time.

Or Northeastern may follow a different pattern this year!

If offered NU In it is a final decision and cannot be changed to September admission on the Boston campus. If offered NU In as an ED applicant it is non-binding but final.

For those not familiar with NU In here is the information:
http://www.northeastern.edu/nuin/
If you go to YouTube and search NU In (country name) you can see videos from students about their experiences in the program.

Good luck!

**If ED decisions do not come out tonight then Northeastern has changed the pattern and all bets are off. **

@aurorablock The Northeastern website says ED will come out by 12/15 with EA coming out by 12/31. Obviously those are soft deadlines, but I would say it is possible for ED to come out next week rather than today (though hopefully not).

As others have said and based on previous years, I suspect you guys will hear your ED decisions tonight and the rest of us next week. Less than two hours for you guys (hopefully)!

ED people - keep checking your emails and portals and let us know!

(Possibly) less than an hour left!

@Bozusaki @shelleyr25 Thank you both so much! I did manage to find it.

@jsgmomof3 my Nunet page is also “back” to normal, and nothing seems to have changed from what it said before it all went blank. I’ll wait and see, but I really want to hear back today because I’ve gotten myself so riled up for it!
