@Bozusaki Good to know, thank you!
applied ED to the nursing program and am soooooo nervous to find out if i got in or not. can anyone tell me if what happened a couple days ago might be an indicator that i’m in? i got a letter from northeastern saying a line in my FAFSA was missing and that i should resubmit asap so they can finish reviewing my financial aid package. would they even care to send that letter if i was already going to be denied?? or is it just automatic and a coincidence??
@Frostieman- Same thing changed on my daughter’s page- it just says everything was received and is pretty much blank otherwise. I hope the ED’s come out tomorrow! Sitting on pins and needles! Good luck to you and I hope you get in!!
@1ittlebean A similar thing happened to me. I received an email asking to send in my parents’ federal tax returns. I’m not sure if that says anything about our chances, though. I guess we’ll find out tomorrow!
@1ittlebean @Bozusaki I got an email about parents’ tax returns too, but I am an EA applicant. Hoping it means good news, but maybe they have other reasons. My parents are small business owners, so maybe they wanted extra info from me idk.
@jsgmomof3 Thanks, I hope so too. Good luck to your daughter!
Here is a parent’s take on Columbia vs. Northeastern from a “feel” standpoint. Both certainly had a campus feel…in the middle of campus you are definitely in a little bubble. Northeastern to me, however, feels a little more part of the city (in a good way). The city (Huntington Ave and the Green Line) just runs through the campus and somehow it makes it feel very connected. Columbia felt to me like it was a little less connected to the surrounding area. That said, both are great schools and you cannot go wrong with either. Best of luck!
I will echo swimmingdad - both campuses are a true campus within a city - with a great surrounding neighborhood and easy transportation to the rest of the big city. Columbia has some satellite locations (sports venues - a train ride away) - which Northeastern doesn’t. The Columbia campus is a little more defined (gates/fencing surrounding the campus in a few locations.) Northeastern is gradually bleeding into its surrounding areas - for example the buildings on the other side of Ruggles - having offices atop stores on Huntington Ave,- renting space at the Christian Science center, etc. - which is blurring the outline of the campus. I don’t think Columbia has anywhere to go - Northeastern will most likely continue to expand into the surrounding community.
@kiddie Actually Columbia has opened a second campus some distance from Morningside Heights:

They can do that given their $10 billion endowment.
But we are getting off topic LOL
Has anyone gotten a decision yet??
Does anyone know where they got their NU ID?
I reset my computer’s history, which got rid of all of the saved password and stuff… including my Northeastern ID. I can’t seem to find an email anywhere with my ID, or a letter, and there’s no way to recover the ID that I can figure out.
@marijke I have multiple emails with my NUID in my inbox, connected to the email that I sent my Common App through. They sent me a lot of emails with it, and I can pull them up just by searching ‘NUID’ in the Gmail search bar.
Haven’t heard anything yet, but I assume they wait until after the school day to release information.
Hey EDers, when stats are released would you guys mind posting stats along with the decisions… Thanks
@marijke The email subject was “Access Your Application Status Online” at the bottom of the email gives the NU ID,
hope this helps. Looks like this

Repost:
If Northeastern follows the same pattern as last year, ED decisions will be coming out on Tuesday 12/6.** In the past the ED decisions were released starting at 7 PM Eastern time and all were released within an hour.**
If ED decisions come out on 12/6, then EA decisions will likely come out on the following Tuesday 12/13. EA decisions are released sometime after 3 PM or 4 PM Eastern and it will take 6 hours before all are released. EA decisions start in Massachusetts and move out south then west.
You will receive an email that links to the admissions website. The email will not have the decision.
The decision page will have tabs that indicate merit aid awarded and/or need based aid if you have submitted the paperwork on time.
Or Northeastern may follow a different pattern this year!
If offered NU In it is a final decision and cannot be changed to September admission on the Boston campus. If offered NU In as an ED applicant it is non-binding but final.
For those not familiar with NU In here is the information:
http://www.northeastern.edu/nuin/
If you go to YouTube and search NU In (country name) you can see videos from students about their experiences in the program.
Good luck!
**If ED decisions do not come out tonight then Northeastern has changed the pattern and all bets are off. **
@TomSrOfBoston hi. do you know if Northeastern released the ED results on December 6th of last year, or was it the first tuesday of December last year?
@TigerDude21 Looking at last year’s results thread, decisions were posted on December 8.
ED came out Tuesday 12/8 last year.
Oh so maybe it would come out this Thursday then? Because if the early decision results came out a week before the said notification date(December 15th), then maybe it will be the same this year and come out on December 8th as it did the past year? I might be wrong and maybe they will keep the same day. Let me know your thoughts.
