Official Class of 2022 Applicants Discussion Thread

out*

One of my friends received a rejection email (Acting Program) from Acceptd within the last hour. Maybe this means decisions are coming out earlier?

@defyinggravity18 don’t art program decisions usually come out before regular decisions, like i found out i got rejected from the music program at UCSB like a month ago

Really hoping they come out early. April 15th is so late!

Possibly
I applied to three other schools for theatre tech and haven’t heard back from any yet (and all of them are being released this month). I guess we just have to wait.

Ok so maybe it does mean decisions will come out early
ya i haven’t heard from UCSDs music program either

I highly doubt that they would send out results in April since the Ivy Leagues and other elite private schools send out results towards the end of March. If I had to take a guess, I would say we would find out towards the end of March.

They should come out on the 25th.

I applied to carnegie mellon for a major in econ

My stats are as followed-
sat-1440
math 2 sat- 780
IB points- 40/45
Plus a ton of volunteering and internships and other extracurricular activities.

Are these stats competitive enough to get me in?

Seems like. But more important stats are: race, gender, athlete etc. The beauty of holistic review. There you go.

@defyinggravity18 - My kid applied to the school of music, and we were informed that today (3/15) we’d hear about the music faculty’s recommendations (admit/deny/waitlist) to the main admissions office, but that even if they were recommending admission, it wouldn’t be official until admissions said so later this month (presumably pending a final academic review).

Whether that’s just a school of music thing or a College of Fine Arts wide thing I can’t help you with.

@NYCMusicDad I was accepted to the School of Drama over the summer, but I also have to wait for the academic admissions response. Hopefully it will be released sooner rather than later.

I just called the office of admission and they said that they are mailing letters out on March 29th and on March 31st we will be able to see the update on the portal.

Anyone else apply for econ? Seems like I’m the only one with everyone else trying comp or other STEM majors.

My son applied Econ. We r waiting. It’s so stressful.

@Ac832 What are his stats?
