Oh same here. Its pretty pathetic; however, I’m getting less anxious and more excited now that we’re in the final stretch. I just wish these confirmation emails would show the !$%# up

does it matter if i didn’t log in and didn’t track my app?after i submitted my ed, i just kinda let it go on its way until now…which means we should be getting an email from columbia telling us how to find out if we’re accepted, deferred, or rejected right…and its most likely online right?they don’t call or anything right

AUGHHH I am officially losing it. Gmail mistakenly marked me as a threat because I signed in so many times in one hour

oh I didn’t receive the “picture yourself” letter either… What else have you guys received from Columbia after submitting the application? I must be so nervous that I even worried there’s something wrong with my email account…

“picture yourself” letter is not an email. Info about Columbia ID is only email I received after submitting my commonapp.
I don’t think “picture yourself” is a likely letter. I even think Columbia says “Don’t be depressed when we reject you. Picture yourself sitting… and send your application again next year!” lol.
But I had an interview (on time! and really went well) last friday. My slight hope is they sent this letter after they got a good feedback from my interviewer.

Well last year the decision came out on Dec. 8th and applicants received the email about to to check the decision on Dec. 6th…

Have you all been on the financial aid tracking page recently?

I remember that in the Messages section, before my fin aid stuff was all sent in, it said like… “If you are admitted, you will have to send this year’s tax returns, etc etc etc…”

Here’s what’s in the messages section now:

“PRIOR YEAR TAXES: Thank you for submitting the previous year’s Federal Income Tax Return(s) for your parent(s). Please remember that to confirm your financial aid eligibility, you will need to later submit the 2012 Federal Income Tax Return(s), as well as all associated schedules and W-2(s), once completed, to us via the IDOC service.”

No mention of “if you are admitted” anymore… Does this mean anything? Probably overthinking this…

I’m pretty sure that’s just a mass email/message for everyone. I just received an email saying that my fin aid stuff was done (My dad forgot to send in his taxes… lol), and what you have up there is word for word what was contained in your quote.
Therefore: Overthinking. Go listen to music and chillax. Thursday will come soon enough.

I see the same message, and seeing how I’m probably not going to be accepted, it’s probably not a sign of anything ^^;

Do the CSS Profiles still say the 6th?

Yes. 10char

Hopefully we’ll get some confirmation on the 2nd or 3rd.

If I have to wait any longer I’m getting into the fetal position, wailing, and refusing to shut up until that damn thing is in my inbox. Like a true adult.

Getting one admission ball out of 5 random balls would require lot of luck. I’m not dying to see the result but I’m just dying from keep thinking of 80% defer/rejection rate…

I’ll be so dejected if I’m not accepted or deferred.

if columbia deferred you, but you got accepted there on regular and also to harvard, would you guys still choose columbia?

It would be very tough to decide. Although I prefer Columbia’s environment, Harvard has a prestige that is somewhat better than that of Columbia. Also my major at two schools are both outstanding. I would probably go for Harvard in such situation. But that’s just 100% hypothetical situation which is verrry unlikely to happen.

I would choose Columbia. Except for the part where I won’t actually get in…

Same. I would choose Columbia… But I don’t even think I’ll apply to Harvard lol

Ok so I come from a place where the SAT is not very prominent and I only took the ACT (34). Does anybody think that this will hurt me negatively? Columbia says that that is perfectly fine on their website but I feel like not having any SAT subject tests might hurt me?
