OFFICIAL Columbia University Class of 2017 ED Results

Common appl short answer was about my summer research at a local university. My long common app essay was about a trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands (scuba-diving). Then the columbia essays, about how i’m agnostic but reading the bible gave me insight into how the majority of people derive their truth, then why i want to study neuroscience and atted columbia.

i wrote my common app short answer about being editor-in-chief for 2 years and my regular essay about bucket lists that my friend and i make every summer
then obviously the short answers about how much i love CC, film and about the characters in les mis!

I wrote my essay about my experience at Girls Nation and how the participants were all so different yet we were able to feed off of others ideas and were exposed to different beliefs. During the experience we met President Obama and I got to hug him. I wrote about how that moment emblemized the theme of the week.

I called the admissions office today: IT HAS BEEN CONFIRMED THAT IT IS THE SIXTH

wow… I think it’s kind of a good news…

The last thing now is the confirmation email…

Ahhhhhhhh… ! Haha this is so weird. I don’t feel old enough to have applied to college… Haha tear for yesteryears

Yeah!!! So happy it’s the 6th!!

oh my… Like I knew 99% it was the 6th.
But there was like the 1% that kept me sane.
Now that is confirmed, I will go crazy

why can’t they just send us the email -____-
this is giving me waves of anxiety
what do you think your chances are you guys?

Where is the email…… It mist be a hard week…

Last year they were sent out at about 9PM but the year before it was like 3PM so it could really be any time this afternoon/evening (eastern time)

Common app essay: connection between shoes and our life experiences, namely my experiences during a 3 week session of jndependent study in Italy (I practically lived in my Nikes).

Supplement: I talked about watching a Columbia head of CC republicans talk about the election and connected it to the history of political activism on campus (protests of 1968 and protests against apartheid)

Painted my room Columbia Blue yesterday!! :D

guys today was the longest day of school ever.

i literally do not know how i am going to make it to thursday

Dear fellow Columbia applicants,
Im an international student from Macedonia (Europe) that recently started following this thread (I intentionally didn’t involve myself in such activities since they raise hope and I don’t want to be crushed! :/)
I JUST KNOW THAT IF I DONT GET IN THEN MY GRANDMA (who naturally doesnt want me to leave Macedonia) MADE A DEAL WITH GOD… AT LEAST SHE SAID SO TODAY ahahahha
Hopes up!!! :D

btw on old topics:

  1. I applied Mechanical Engineering at SEAS
  2. My common app was really cool in my opinion. I presented myself as a movie and the whole essay was like a trailer and throughout I used metaphor and popular culture. In the end I wrote Autumn 2013 Do not miss him! ahahahaha
My Columbia one was that the best aspect of Columbia is that it takes 76 Columbia students to change a light bulb: 1 to change it, 50 to protest the lights right not to change and 25 to hold a counter protest  Then I related the liberal Columbia environment with my country’s post communist theoretical democracy
