Best of luck to those of you applying… I know the wait is killer

I’m so nervous but I really am not expecting anything good from columbia either so I guess it balances.

I know I’m going to get rejected.

Part of me can’t help but wonder if a transcript got lost or something was missed in the mail.

@jubilee - Didn’t you use Columbia’s document tracking portal?? It was better than that of the other Ivies. :)

Less than 3 days to go now.

Anyone have any stats for how many Intn’l students Columbia accepts on average per year with Financial aid??
I think it’s pretty low, but I just want a number to console myself when I see that rejection! Haha!! :p

^According to this site, Columbia gives aid to 23.8% of the international students

[Fewer international students receiving Columbia funding](Fewer international students receiving Columbia funding - Columbia Spectator)

Did anyone get the email yesterday from Columbia about the deadline to sign up for the summer programs for high school students? I know this shouldn’t indicate acceptance, but I find it odd that they would send this if I were to be rejected?

unless it was for columbia students only, nah, it means nothing

but eeeek, columbia’s my first choice >.<

California1234–I got it yesterday too and I’m a junior. It was just an email they sent out to everybody. Good luck for Thursday though! Hope you get in. =]

This waiting is getting on my nerves.
I woke up today, thinking it was Wednesday and I would finally hear about Duke. Then I saw my phone. ITS ONLY TUESDAY. :-(

Pretty sure I am going to wake up tomorrow, thinking it is Thursday because I want to hear about ALL my other outstanding apps. Thursday is the last day for me.

Even if they’re all rejections, at least I’ll know where I stand and I can review where I AM accepted and make a final decision. This waiting is horrendous.

Yes, but I don’t think they tracked mailed items like Harvard.

@maxyend - Thanks for that link!!

@jubilee - Wouldn’t know. Didn’t apply to Harvard!! Haha! :p

Everybody who’s freaking out about the FA portal, relax. It’s the same for me too. The documents and messages tabs just disappeared.
Random question-what order are you guys checking the ivy decisions? :P

Cornell (already accepted lol)
Dartmouth
Harvard
Penn
Brown
Columbia
Princeton
Yale

From first to last

In whatever order they show up!
But if I could choose, it would be:
Columbia
Yale
Penn
Harvard

Really weird FA portal for me too. :/

I just imagined someone having applied to all these schools, and then on Ivy day checking each one and every single one rejected them. How crushing must that be?

Anyway, that’s obviously not you, congrats on Cornell.

^^ A friend of mine last year applied to all the Ivies (sans Dartmouth) and was promptly rejected from each and every one. Never seen a man so dejected.

@Maxyend - I might just be the person you are looking for. An all Ivy reject. I didn’t apply to Yale & Harvard though, just because I knew I would be rejected anyway!! Haha!!

Anyway… I’ve decided that I’ll check in random order just because I expect them all to be rejections!!

UPenn
Columbia (likely)
Princeton
Yale
Harvard (whenever they email me)

Penn
Yale
Columbia
Princeton
Johns Hopkins (I know it’s not an Ivy, but it’s at the same time.)
Harvard
