Has anyone else’s guidance counselor received a call?

oops^ sorry didn’t mean to ask that twice

@artisticnative, no, but my GC did send my transcript + Q1 grades…it’s probably that, chill out. only other thing could be to verify something, but that’s less likely.

@connect1234 My sister doesn’t remember the exact date that she was notified, but she said it was maybe about 2 weeks before decisions came out. She also told me that different schools notify their applicants of decision dates at different times. I’m not sure if that means the actual decision dates are different for different schools though…?

Hey thanks @BroomOfThought. Guess there’s no reason why the colleges have to agree on a common decision date or when emails are sent out, since they do admissions separately, so maybe we’re going to have to ignore each other’s posts in mid Dec. unless we applied to the same college.

thanks for the info

@artisticnative they prolly called to see your senior grades

She already sent my Q1 grades, and the web ID says they have everything. @superdub and @connect1234 I am going to conclude that they wanted to know more about me :D

31 days until Dec 15th

@Kungpaoasian, true, would be even better if Dec.11th like hotel is supposedly. Guess we will find out the date in a few weeks.

Do you all think it’s a good idea to arrange a CAAN interview by myself? There are tons of alumni around my locale and I feel that I need all of the help I can get for the success of my application.

My D is applying ED to FSAD in Human Ecology

Was contacted today by a local Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassador to schedule a “one-on-one” meeting (they do not call them interviews, those are only for the colleges that req. interviews) for early next week. Should be fun :)

@connect1234 was it by phone or email?

@Kungpaoasian, received a nice email about 2 hours ago (probably instead of a call because I’m not home in the mid of day/at school). Am not reading anything into it, I know that they are assigned on a geography-available basis, but I do think it will be fun.

@connect1234 Do you think it is a bad sign that I have not been contacted by an alum?

No, it is not a bad sign that you have not been contacted by an alum. The email only went out the the alum interviewers two days ago, and many of these people have not had a chance to reach out to applicants yet.

@artisticnative it’s also possible that there isn’t an alum in your area. There happened to be a woman right in the same village as me who was an alumna from Cornell so I “interviewed” with her. It turned into a pretty interesting conversation, ended up talking about ice hockey for about 25 minutes.

For those who may meet with an alum, definitely go with some papers. I brought my unofficial transcript, a résumé, the Cornell supplement and a short list of questions. Shows preparedness and impresses :)

Thanks @BPearlman97 for the tips! Does anyone know when we hear back? I heard it’s the 15th of December?

Thats the word 'round here @artisticnative :). Supposedly an email will be sent out early December notifying you of the date which decisions will be released on
