I just want to put this out there, hopefully it works to your benefit. I believe that Cornell only really cares about cr + math.

Do you guys know how well I’d fair for cornell engineering? I’m really really worried.

I have a 2150 super (740 math, 730 writing, 680 cr), cornell will see 1420/1600

I have a 3.8/4.0 unweighted, 4.23/4 weighted. I filled out all 10 activities in common app (all legit, non-bs activities), and I filled out all 5 honors, 3 of them were pretty bs honors though.

and I expect my essays to be about 8/10 quality.

Thanks! and good luck to you all :D

@TodaysEinstein‌ Well there are a lot of factors that play into this (including gender since apparently it is easier for girls to get into engineering), but you should have a pretty good chance, also, Cornell apparently looks a lot at leadership, so if you have about two or more leadership positions, chances are even better.

@TodaysEinstein, none of us is on the Cornell adcom, so it is just speculation but obviously Cornell sees all parts of your SAT as it is on the Common App.
I also agree with @Autumn97 that it may be slightly easier for women than men to get into engineering. I applied HumEc, where it is rumored to be slightly easier for NY residents and also men (I’m neither) but again, none of us on here knows how the decisions are made and we all just put our best feet forward.
Good luck to all of us!

@connect1234 …all this time I thought you were a guy…

@Kungpaoasian, ah ha ha, nope, a girl (with no hooks for HumEc, but still a great fit).

Quick Question:

So I now have an online cornell application status checking thingy…
but on my financial aid stuff it says I have nothing to do…I sent in my CSS Profile and all that, but I have no way of checking whether they got that stuff

Any ideas? Does anyone have any info on this?

@123211, if you don’t mind sharing, what are your stats and ec 's. I’m doing AEM also, and I wanna know what I’m stacked up against :slight_smile: . If you don’t want to, no worries

Thanks @premedprincess13! Same to you! My D’s 1st quarter grades will be published on the 7th. She just emailed her GC today and asked him to send them out to Cornell (and the other schools she applied to early). She is doing very well this quarter so every bit helps!

“Friendly reminder that the deadline is in a minute. So if you have not applied yet, you should probably apply soon.”
@Kungpaoasian, I was watching SNL at that time, just saw your post, nice one!

Thank you! @connect1234‌

@jamesjunkers No problem lol.
Im not going to go into detail for every activity, but i will give an overview.

@123211,

I’m on my phone, so I really don’t want to type out all ecs, but basically, I’m in like 5 clubs for all 4 years of hs, President of 1, 3 honors societies, etc.
Good luck, I hope we both get in!

@jamesjunkers Good luck to you too! Fingers crossed!!

That response time was incredibly fast! Haha.
These next two months of waiting are going to be awful.

Well, just a long wait from here on out.

This is going to be a nerve wracking 6 weeks haha, just out of curiosity, which other schools are you guys applying to? :)

Applying to Cornell ILR… Guess I should have posted this earlier, oops! Also applying to the Naval Academy, best of luck to all, let the nerves commence! [-O<
