Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2017

@fashionista1234: I certainly hope your true and that they dont get a lot of applicants for our major. Same here…hoping that my portfolio can work its magic. lol Yeahhh i’ve taken a lot of costume design classes, but not fashion, maybe they will think that its unique and different…ya never know. Im nervous tho!!!

Does anyone know the acceptance rate of ED applicants?

it has been around 35% in recent years (decreasing little by little every year as more people apply). I think it was 33% last year. You also have to take recruited athletes and legacies into account when looking at that # though…

Another question- how much does being a legacy come into play?! ahh!

uhm err im not exactly sure. It’s not going to give a solid B applicant with just ok SAT/ACT scores a big enough boost to get in that much i do know. It probably helps a bit if they’re on the fence.

Don’t come here - it sucks.

@themickk, it’s far too late for many of us to change course. We’ve happily sold our souls and are crossing our fingers in anticipation! :)

a person I know who works in CALS said that they had a record number of applicants this year and it is the most competitive ever…great

did they say in what major was competitive?..

Just in curiosity.
If I go into the Financial To Do List and click on the Student Center on the top right hand corner, my demographic shows up. Does anyone else get this?

Yeah same for me. I wouldn’t over think it though…

ohhhhh nooo!!! i applied to cals hoping it would be easier to get into than say, human ecology… wahhhhh!!!

Does everyone have access to a Student Center area that has a tab for Financial Aid, Account Summary, Add/Drop Courses, etc.?

From the Student Center page that thefreshapple mentioned… clicking “account inquiry” under Financial aid gives some interesting stuff. not quite sure what it means though

Yes I also have access. Can anyone not access the Student Center page?

Im pretty sure everyone has access to that page

i have access too

don’t think it means anything

I’m seeing concrete numbers for how much fin. aid grants I get and their break up (gov, Cornell, etc). Everyone else getting that also?

No…where are you seeing this?

I’ve heard of other people seeing their finaid things. I’m missing my student tax papers so I can’t see mine yet. sigh.
