What you tried to focus on in your application - any hooks you tried to make for yourself: Giving back to community.
Weaknesses: Unweighted GPA, Major Selection (8% AR for AEM Major)
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I think I was rejected because of my major selection, AEM, because it has an acceptance rate of only 8%. Also my unweighted GPA drastically hurt my application.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:Accepted- UF Honors, College of William and Mary, Fordham, FSU, USF. Waitlisted-UVa. Rejected- Cornell, UPenn, Dartmouth
Your “Big Red” factor - the most unique thing in your application: Community Service- Working with migrant workers.

anybody get into ILR? what were your stats like? how’s the ED admission rate?

anybody get into the ILR school ED? what were your scores like?

I applied ED to ILR, got deferred, and now got a transfer option / guaranteed transfer. 2100 SAT, top 5% class rank. decent extracurriculars and community service. @cbondz69 are you thinking about applying next year?

@KAMEO550 yeah. 2050, top 5%, great extra curriculurs/essay topic, work experience, resume is very suited towards labor relations

Anyone knows why Cornell’s page says that the deadline for finaid for ED applicants is on may 1st?

http://www.finaid.cornell.edu/apply-aid/prospective-applicants/early-decision-applicants

@cbondz69 it sounds like you are the ideal applicant ILR is looking for. good grades, but great “fit” with the program, which is the most important thing and something I didn’t completely have. so yeah, definitely go with ED if it’s still your #1 choice come October.

Do you use Facebook?

Anyone knows when does the ED result come out this year? (For Cornell?)

It generally falls right around mid-December; last year it was December 16th.

^ Yup, that’s correct–it’s been around then for the past couple years. They’ll usually announce when they’re releasing results a couple weeks beforehand.

You guys should start a new thread for Cornell Class of 2019 ED hopefuls. Best wishes to everyone!

I heard that they want to postpone to Jan this year

is it dangerous to include cornell references in your common app essay? Other college readers won’t catch them cause they’re just “descriptor words” but they’ll definitely catch the eye of cornell admissions officers. My only fear is that if I put one too many the readers will get annoyed and reject me. Am i right, or wrong?
